  1. I do not see any changes in the amount of VRAM used so far.
  2. It still doesn't like changing vehicles. Crashing as before. But otherwise looking good so far.
  3. Hold the horses. I am taking bets that HF2 will make big improvements but first break most add-ons again. I learnt to keep all my old installers.
  4. Thanks, I found it, my browser didn't show it correctly. I agree that there should be crests and also a different wave movement. However, it still looks quite impressive IMO.
  5. I tried to locate that video but I can't find it. Could someone point my to the right direction please. Thank you.
  6. I tried your solution with Envtex. I probably didn't get it right. Thus, I went back to plain vanilla EA. The sun is horrible, but at least you don't look at it all the time.
  7. Same here. No v5 without EA.
  8. It might if the places you like to fly are nicely represented. A top quality scenery of MSFS beats everything we have today. But a great addon-scenery with Prepar3D beats an average scenery of MSFS. That's the way it looks now but obviously it can change until release. Who had thought of ORBX True Earth come alive a while ago?
  9. I hope you are not only flying in Gibraltar 🙂 Just kidding. The new MSFS is great but as we all by now only where the data for the scenery from Bing and the derived data is also great. Areas of the world that were often left out from a good representation seem to be left out again. Which is not too bad because it allows room for the 3rd party devs to produce even better sceneries for the new sim. We should manage our expectations based on where our preferences for flying are. Just my five cents.
  10. Only that this half French player will also only cook with DX11 water. Prepar3D v5 has issues but when it runs without problems, it can very well compete with what I have seen from the new player.
  11. Thanks. So out of 8GB VRAM the OS could reserve up to 1.6GB for its own use under 1909 vs around 1GB under 2004. That would free about 0.6GB in my case. Luckily, I am fine at the moment with the available VRAM so I'll hold on a little longer until I update.
  12. My 1909 Win 10 version starts with a usage of 0.5/0.6 GB of VRAM. So I guess there is not much to gain with updating to 2004 now.
  13. Thanks Bert. Is this doable with the instructions from the RXP manual or is your panel expertise required?
  14. As far as I heard, C310R, PC12 and DHC-2 should be easy to switch. Can't talk about the others.
  15. That's something I would like to know as well, would I miss a plane? Currently, for Prepar3D the Milviz Beaver and the Carenado Phenom 300 would be affected if I wanted to move fully to RXP. For the Beaver it should not be an issue. Does someone know if Jorge's Phenom GTN mod can be used with the RXP GTN?
  16. Sorry to hear that the restore didn't work as planned. I would delete both GTN's and try installing the older trainer as per the link from Jean-Luc. Then add the GTN's one after another if the trainer works stand-alone.
  17. Sorry, but I think this is not correct. As the system restore says: "Any programs that were added since the last restore point will be deleted and any programs that were removed will be restored." Thus you would get back the 2.7.0.0 trainer. Here is an example:
  18. You beat me about Garmin acting. But I don't think F1 is dismissive. Tiberiu always tried to do what was possible when he had to update. And he had to do this many times in the past without his fault.
  19. There will be an update for the F1 GTN soon. It always took a few days to get it ready when something changed on Garmin's or LM's side. I used to be one who updated each and everything on day one. I have become way more cautious in the meantime. This is really not a reason to blame the two GTN manufacturers nor Garmin. Garmin had to update because the trainer did not work anymore with Win 10 2004, at least as a standalone product. So they had to act. RXP was faster to make its product compatible with the new trainer but F1 will follow. I am the least to be a patient customer but in our hobby that's the only way not to go mad at times.
  20. I had this issue few times a couple of days ago with the Aerosoft Airbus 318/319. I did reinstall the Visual C++ redistributables and completed the full tutorial flight EDDF-EGLL afterwards without a black screen. If the power supply or the graphics card itself were to blame, wouldn't the issue then also arise in another sim with similar GPU load?
  21. V5 installers for the A318/319 have also been published.
  22. I did the same on Facebook. Left it for two months when the extreme positions on the current situation became hard to tolerate. After all, most of the "friends" there are real acquaintances. The cute animal videos brought me back. No, seriously I think that the exchange of ideas, as controversial as they may be, belong to our nature. Let's stay on here and enjoy what we like. And when we sometimes clash about an issue, as long as it's a fair fight that should be ok. Give it a second thought, Anders.
  23. I'll throw in November 30 for Churchill and November 22 for de Gaulle. Given the state of the planet, July 13 for Julius Caesar might also a day to celebrate some desire. Not sarcastically, btw.
  24. I tried it for 2 Carenado birds. All according to instructions. But the planes didn't show up in the sim. I use the add-on method for most things now, but for Carenado I went back to a direct install.
