  1. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/121624-a320-ultimate-from-flightfactor/&do=findComment&comment=1241764 But it might be years from now, if it ever happens.
  2. I also got it. The store came to a full stall on my laptop, so I switched over to my mobile and managed to complete the purchase there. I'll have to wait for the weekend to do my first flight.
  3. It's no problem to have a stable release and a beta side by side on the same system. You can even symlink global- and custom scenery to the beta in order to save time and to avoid wasting disk space.
  4. No, you need to build the desired shape out of smaller rectangles. It's just the way the scenery system works at the moment, probably to make it as efficient as possible. But I agree that it would be nice to have a tool in WED that let's you draw an arbitrary shape, which then gets automatically divided into small recangles to give a good approximization.
  5. I have a complete mirror of my custom scerey on a Synology NAS.
  6. And it's out. Not yet on the store, but you can download directly from the developer's website http://www.classicjetsims.com/WorldTraffic/updates.html If you haven't bought v2, you might as well buy v2 now and use the same key for v3.
  7. Ah, die Hahnweide. Gruß aus Ohmden!
  8. It'll be just like it was with XP 10. We will see constant improvements (and changes) until 11.5 (or so). And just when we can call XP 11 "finished", and all the devs are happy that the constant updating of their aircraft to keep up with XP's changes is finally over, XP 12 will be around the corner and it all starts again. Don't get me wrong, though - I am totally happy with using a sim that is constantly updated, so I can live with having to wait weeks or even months for some planes to get updated (or even having to ditch some older ones completely). LM, please keep up the great work and don't try to maintain backwards compatibility at all costs like "some other sim and it's successor" did for 10 years.
  9. You could also try this package, which adds "auto-generated" 3D to most 2D airports. You need to keep it under any custom and the global airports entry in the scenery ini, but there are instructions included in how to use it. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/27582-prefab-scenery-for-25000-airports-with-exclusions/
  10. Both, actually. It comes with a database of real world flights, but you can also auto-generate AI-flights with some options regarding max number of flights, traffic density etc. A qoute from the quick start guide:
  11. True. But I think that will be the natural consequence when/if more and more established developers begin to offer addons for X-Plane: prices will definitely increase overall. That being said... The overall quality of X-Plane addons (in all price ranges) has also increased a lot within the last year.
  12. Oops, sorry about that! I corrected the title... But they already said that they would be willing to release more of their planes for XP when the Arrow sells well.
  13. Looking good! https://www.justflight.com/product/pa28r-arrow-iii-xplane-11
  14. It depends. I use PFPX for longer routes, but since we got our twins in april, I don't get to fly much more than an one-hour flight every weekend. So what I do like to do now is fire up Navigraph Charts, select a SID wich takes me in the general direction to the destination, pre-select some reasonable STARs and approaches for the anticipated runway and manually find connecting airways via the enroute charts. It's fun to plan a route without any automatisms and it's something that I can do in the few free minutes I get every day.
  15. There is no simple answer to that question, as it is highly depended on a lot of factors: - Quality of the source orthophots - Zoom level - Texture resolution settings in X-Plane - Type of environment (urban, mountainous, flat, forests etc.) - Use of decals (gritty details) or not etc... But even with all things being equal, it's still highly dependent on each ones subjective perception. Let's say we have the exactly same scenery and two different people. One of them might already find it perfectly fine at 3000ft, while the other will still complain about the lack of quality at 18,000ft. I only build tiles in ZL16 with decals, and I am totally happy with the results even when flying GA or helicopters low&slow. Others won't do such things even with ZL17. I have a small area of about 20 tiles around my home town built in ZL17, but that was just to check if I would see a large benefit in rebuilding my other orthos. Turns out, It's not worth the additional time and HDD space for me. Also keep in mind that you can set up Ortho4xp to build tiles with a higher ZL around airports and a lower ZL for all the rest.
  16. Libraries can go anywhere, their position in the INI is not relevant for them to work. They are used "on demand" whenever a scenery needs them, no matter if they are located on top or below that scenery in the INI. However, it's of course a good idea to keep them together just for the sake of clarity. Autogen, Overlays, W2xp and stuff like that should sit on top of any photoreal tiles and HD mesh.
  17. You can assign slopes to an axis in FSUIPC. They change the ratio of stick deflection vs. control surface deflection from the default linear profile to a sloped profile with more or less sensitivity around the center, while still being able to reach full deflection at the extremes.
  18. I guess only the DVD version can be used offline. My digital download edition needs to verify the s/n online from time to time. However, if you have a WLAN adapter for your PC and a smartphone, you could set up a mobile hotspot for the s/n check, wich just takes some seconds.
  19. Wow, unexpected but most welcome! LevelD's 757, Leonardo's Maddog... Now if Simcheck decided to update the A300 for v4, I might think about installing it again.
  20. USGS is USA_2, but I don't know if they cover Alaska, and how the quality is like if they do. I did the whole western US in ZL16 up to long 103 with USGS (but not including Alaska), and I'm very pleased with the results.
  21. Intereseting! But unfortunately, I think we'll not see this thing flying until XP12. or 13 Heck, Ppeople will have SID/STAR support on the A350 until then!
  22. X-Plane supports 1/2 refresh rate vsync, which should give you perfectly smooth 30fps on a 60Hz monitor. At least it does on my end. You can try this setting in standard or adaptive mode, but it doesn't make a noticable difference on my system.
  23. For a start, search for ortho4xp tutorial on youtube. There are also endless threads about this subject, but the videos will give you a good idea to get started.
  24. How do you engage and control the reversers? I'm doing fine with this setup in all planes: 1.) Map a key or button to "Toggle thrust reversers" (not "Hold thrust reverse at max"). 2.) After touchdown and with the throttles at idle, push that key or button. This restults in idle reverse, which is enough in most cases and also common practice on most airports. 3.) If idle reverse is not enough, add some thrust while the reverses are acitve. 4.) Push the button or key again to disengage the reversers
  25. Actually, it doesn't even need to be an Airbus given the lack of info. Although it's likely a Bus, it might as well be any longer range plane.
