FSX Realistic sunrise departure from Dusseldorf Airport Video
- Realistic sunrise departure from Dusseldorf Airport
- Realistic sunrise departure from Dusseldorf Airport
- Realistic atmospheric sunset over Dusseldorf Airport
Please note: these are custom sky textures created by myself. The only thing that has been "edited" in these shots in the lens flare of the sun. This is the view facing away from the sun (the Antisolar point), where you can clearly see a rendering of the Belt of Venus phenomenon One from the apron a little later on:- Realistic sunset over North London
- Realistic Sunrise progression
Looking up the Eisacktal valley along the Eastern Rhaetian Alps - Dolomites boundary from just east of Bolzano, Italy. (Please note the lens flare was added after the screenshots were taken, and not rendered in FSX) I wish FSX had an accurate Rayleigh scattering rendering like the blue haze in X-Plane which would make these kind of screenshots so much more realistic. I also wish FSX had a dynamic sun lens flare depiction so that its brighter and more intense during midday and smaller and softer during sunrise/sunset.- FSX Realistic Sunset Approach and Landing
Several screenshots from my latest video FSX Realistic Sunset Approach and Landing The footage is recorded untreated, raw from FSX, with only the custom sun lens flare and additional glow to the runway lights added as a post-processing effect in Adobe After Effects. All colour-corrections and image enhancements are applied with ReShade, a post-processing tool just like ENB, only better, and recorded direct from FSX with FS Recorder.- FSX Realistic Sunset Approach and Landing
A video showcasing a realistic looking rendering of FSX with a sunset approach and landing at Frankfurt Airport. The footage is recorded untreated, raw from FSX, with only the custom sun lens flare and additional glow to the runway lights added as a post-processing effect in Adobe After Effects. All colour-corrections and image enhancements are applied with ReShade, a post-processing tool just like ENB, only better, and recorded direct from FSX with FS Recorder.- Zurich Airport dawn
- Realistic dusk at Dubai Airport
I'm not using anything that's currently available to download as these are all my own custom, made from scratch textures. I will make them available to download soon but I'm not quite ready yet as I am always finding room to improve by making subtle adjustments to the colours of the sky. Here are a few more from the same time of day in Dubai, showing the progression of the sunset. (I added a lens flare, but apart from that the screenshots remain unedited, with no colour correction at all.) And one from the apron:- Realistic dusk

- Reducing brightness of stars
Does anyone know of a way to really lower the brightness of stars at night? I'm using Autostar X and there is a way in the Tools option to lower brightness but in FSX that does not really show, especially if you zoom out in any of the views, the stars become brighter and brighter. I'm guessing that this has something to do with mipmapping each pixel? However I'm not sure. How are the individual pixels of the stars in FSX generated? I came across the fx_Dots.bmp and fx_WhiteDot in the FSX Effects folder and thought that these files may be related to the star pixels. I just want to be able to edit the stars to make them appear fainter in the night sky, without however reducing the actual number of stars.- A380 tailcam at dusk twilight
- A380 tailcam at dusk twilight
What a simple lens flare/glow edit can do. If only FSX had better light rendering... Before: After: A much more realistic bloom which is a much better representation of the glow and over-exposure of the light from the sun seen in photos and videos at twilight, especially from a tail-cam feed.- Emirates 777-300ER Golden Sunrise

- Good Morning Heathrow (Realistic sky textures)
Note: The glow of the airport terminals and apron was created post-capture.- International diversity at Heathrow
A heavily modified Mega Airport London Heathrow Xtended AFCAD combined with Ultimate Traffic 2 with custom schedules and repaints creates the most up-to-date AI traffic experience.- A380 Silhouette (Realistic sunset sky textures)
Showing off my custom made sky textures which I've worked hard on to reproduce the most realistic skies. It is important to note that this screenshot has not been edited in any way after the capture. I use custom tweaked Mogwaisoft Shade and also Reshade (instead of ENB) for bloom and colour/brightness adjustments which really enhance the overall visual depiction and complementing the sky textures, are essential for the realism.- Beautiful, realistic sunset/dusk sky textures
Just a series of screenshots showcasing my sky textures that I have been working on and off for the past few weeks, meticulously editing the .bmp files to portray the most realistic skies for a more immersive and realistic FSX experience. I have finally reached a point where I am happy with the textures and will post more screenshots in the next few days. I am using Active Sky Next for weather generation, ORBX Global, Vector and Open LC Europe, as well as Aerosoft's German Landmarks and a combination of ORBX's and Aerosoft's Night Environment Germany for the night lighting. Importantly, I am using Mogwaisoft Shade and also Reshade (instead of ENB) for bloom and colour/brightness adjustments. Featured in these shots is the Cathay Pacific PMDG 777-300ER.- Night ground textures appearing at daytime
- Night ground textures appearing at daytime
Okay so I did everything as instructed in this suggestion, I disabled all addons and all the exe's and dll's that you suggested and let FSX generate a fresh new FSX.cfg. The night ground textures appearing too early continues to happen. So there's obviously something wrong with something that I've installed with FSX perhaps the timezone file is still messing this up. If it means anything, I am running FSX in Direct X 10 mode with Steve's DX10 Fixer.- Night ground textures appearing at daytime
I wouldn't know if the timezone.bgl file is corrupt or not, and no it has not been renamed to timezone.utb. However I do know there is an issue with the timezones in my FSX because the timezone in London is off GMT by 1 hour which is wrong as in reality London shares the GMT time. I haven't used any programs to sync the time in FSX until last night I downloaded FS Realtime which fixes the timezone issue but doesn't fix the texture issue. I don't remember what my FSX was like before I had installed Ultimate Traffic 2 because I've had it for so long. I used to have Ultimate Terrain X and Ground Environment X installed before using Orbx Global and Vector products. How soon before sunset do your night ground textures load?Account
