  1. The default 930 is already a decent aircraft but I’m still interested in a TBM by B.Square. They will add some complexity and systems depth that we wouldn’t get otherwise. It will likely feel like a completely different thing.
  2. As far as I’m aware, Robert hasn’t uploaded it anywhere. And in case you were unable to read my earlier post in this same thread… You will have to message him to get it. What is so fishy about that?
  3. Not with Robert’s mod. I haven’t flown it without so unsure if any of the past updates helped.
  4. Send a message to Robert Young. He's looking for more pilots to test it. Specify which one(s) you want. He has the JF Warrior, normal Arrow and turbo Arrow all redone.
  5. I am using Robert Young’s modified flight dynamics (I have the turbo Arrow) and it makes a big difference. The Arrow is now a joy to fly.
  6. Perhaps it’s just that SWS a have completed their part of the contract. Their involvement is over. Like hiring a landscaper to lay sod but once done, the homeowner will add flowers/shrubs and paint the fence. If SWS were fired by PILOTS, that’s a whole other kettle of fish. And considering it’s a year overdue, I suspect something got off the rails with this project.
  7. Further details if interested…. 100AW is used when flying in hot environments. 25W-60 is best for mild to warm climate. 20W-50 is best for mild to cold climate. The 25W and 20W are good all-around oils. Using North America as an example, during the summer, I’d use 25W and in the winter, I’d use 20W. (Maybe switch to 100AW if you were flying in that southern US heat dome).
  8. I once mixed up the heading knob with the compass deviation adjustment knob. That’s the only thing I can think of.
  9. Some com radios have a rotary volume knob. (The GTN has a sliding graph indicator). Make sure your volume is turned up.
  10. I’m sure we all have our 2020 wishes but I’ve come to the conclusion that some fixes will never happen. Certainly not the ones I want (ATC voice drop outs, better ATC, better AI, better ground handling). My concern is that 2024 may not include these either but I’ll wait for further updates before deciding if moving on to the next generation is something to look forward to. Fingers crossed.
  11. Robert sent it to me directly and perhaps it’s still being tested but I believe he has invited anyone to try it. Just send him a note. Edit.. Let him know which of the three mods you would like… regular Arrow, turbo Arrow and/or Warrior
  12. Robert Young has made a terrific mod to update the flight dynamics of the Arrows and Warrior. Makes a huge difference. I don’t have the MSFS Comanche but I did have the FSX version. There is much more to it than just a nice textured bird and flight dynamics. I’m sure it’s an aircraft you will enjoy for years. There are others you could consider that are also nicely modelled. No need to limit yourself to two choices. The Back Square Baron / Bonanza are excellent and high on my list. Whatever you choose, there’s always next month for another purchase. 😎
  13. That would be good. I don’t think Asobo has any interest in tackling ATC. Or they have no idea how.

  15. I can’t wait to learn if AI traffic will be much better in MS2024. Its already been mentioned that real world liveries and more AI models will be there (unsure if that means on release day) but that’s only valuable if traffic logic works. And they better flare, not pancake down.
  16. Hmm... there is a hint of unhappiness in there. But at some point, we all need a change. I wish him well in new pastures.
  17. No, it was appx 15 Gb. So I think that may have been the full AAU2. But I already had from a week ago.
  18. I just had 1.33.8.0 (re)install today as well. It didn't affect my settings (thankfully) but I have no idea why it needed to download again. I fired up MSFS yesterday and did a flight without issue. 😕
  19. I can only speak from the 747 perspective. I have dual Saitek TQs so even though I have enough axis for a four engine turbofan (don’t need axis for mixture or rpm), I don’t find that necessary for sim purposes at all. I just use a simple left and right side power. So in the 747, engine 1 and 2 are left throttle and engine 3 and 4 are right throttle. But that’s just me. For the six engine flying boat (I don’t own it), i would likely use the same technique.
  20. The flight engineer (including the one with the A2A Connie) is such a great tool. Every large aircraft should have either a co-pilot and/or an engineer. These aren’t single pilot aircraft in the real world so having that duplicated in the sim would be very welcome..
  21. Well... the FMC is a part of airliners. But if I recall, stock airliners from FS9 and earlier did not simulate them. They used a simple nav/gps switch similar to GA. It followed the flight plan but lacked procedures and editing flight plans. I guess there’s no technical reason why a developer couldn’t make a model like this. I suspect it’s just economics.... a too small audience wanting airliner simplicity.
  22. It’s financial risk management. Losing an aircraft and a few employees is vastly different than killing 100 or 200 passengers. The lawsuits and PR fallout of using ‘part time’ pilots would be horrendous. Passenger pilots are also required to complete regular proficiency training even though they may fly every day.
  23. Yes. But when carrying passengers, there is a higher level of proficiency required.
  24. I pre-ordered MSFS2020 but 2024 is definitely not a day1 purchase for me. However, if it has a good ATC implementation and good AI, I’ll be on-board shortly after release. I already have a nice VFR sim. I appreciate all you “Day 1-ers” testing it for all us “wait-and-see-ers”
  25. This is why airline pilots stick to only one aircraft type. A pilot won’t fly a 737 today and then a Dash 7 tomorrow. If anyone (including us simpilots) want to get proficient, stick with that one model for a while. To the OP.... Start with a simple model. Maybe the C172. Something not too complex. And stick with it (always using checklists) until you feel very comfortable. Then move on to something a bit more complex (maybe the TBM) and stick with that for a while. And watch some YouTube videos. They can be a big help.
