13900k Is a Beast, and no reason for any tweaks & manual overclocking. I am at 5.7ghz with all cores running on MSFS stable with out any issue. So far even on high-demanding Aircrafts, Airports, Sceneries and high-populated areas i never went below 70fps. On cruise i am always at 130-141 fps. 13900k + 4090 = Success Flight Simulation Story.

Do you have Oled display? Unfortunately after a research Oled panels have flickering with G-sync usage, and looks like a hardware issue. Having the same flickering especially at night flights but with great smooth performance even in the most demanding airports/aircrafts

I have the same issue with Dell Alienware AW3423DW.When G-sync is enabled there is a flickering mostly on night flights. Only solution so far is to disable G-sync.

MSFS Vsync somehow loses focus. Or so...
Seth2021 replied to ThomseN_inc's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
This is weird. Did you check MSFS with out any addons and start with high and then Ultra-settings. I guess you already decreased terrain level of detail , incase you had it over 300. Do you have any other external frame cap limiter like Riva tuner for example? Frame generation works only right now with Nvidia control panel frame limiter. Check also task manager if any other source is creating issues on MSFS, Also check if g-sync is actually working ( Your Monitor/TV refresh rate needs to be synchronized with your hardware frame rate). Are you sure its stuttering and not tearing? -

Could you open Dev mode, enable fps counter and check where exactly are those spikes that cause the stutters. Is it GPU or GPU? I have almost the same system with same Nvidia control panel settings. Try to disable V-sync if you use G-sync and place your max frame rate cap to 57 -
Frame generation don't work well with external frame limiters ( RTSS etc.). The only option that works is NVidia control panel frame limiter, which i guess you made allready.

I received an email from bmworld on 1st of March: Hello, pilots! Good news, everyone! All airports are unlocked ! Even though I am still sanctioned by PayPal and unable to register new members on my site, I am opening all airports for old BMWorld members. Thanks to everyone who supported me. Thank you for your patience. I hope that you are satisfied with the result of the money invested. I'm not standing still, and continue to work in a new format. I joined forces with AmSim and now we are creating more ambitious projects that are available on ORBX and the Marketplace. Please note that Venice Airport has been updated. I wish you all a peaceful sky and pleasant flights! Happy first day of spring everyone! Welcome: https://beautifulmodelworld.com/ Best regards, Alexey.

Great FPS but poor panning, New Build
Seth2021 replied to Wise87's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I was on LGAV airport and with drone camera i was trying to move/panning while increasing altitude around airport. I had some micro-stutters + tearing issues while i was moving around. After many tests with Nvidia control panel, except the fps cap on Monitor refresh rate ( with minus 3 ) when i enabled V-sync drone camera become smooth with out any stutter/tearing etc. -
Great FPS but poor panning, New Build
Seth2021 replied to Wise87's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I always cap my fps to 141hz on G-sync ultimate 144hz Monitor with great smooth performance. Is there an benefit to cap on half ? Also since the latest MSFS updates Riva tuner frame cap creates ultra stuttering, so the only option is Nvidia control panel. -
Default Windows VBS Setting Slows Games Up to 10%
Seth2021 replied to snwboardn's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
i will turn it off then. Still don't know if ESET is compatible with this hardware virtualization extra protection of Microsoft. -
Default Windows VBS Setting Slows Games Up to 10%
Seth2021 replied to snwboardn's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
With Core isolation disabled i made many tests and i got almost 8-10 more fps. As i am using frame generation i dont know if i need to disable an extra security from Microsoft ( even that i am using ESET Internet Security) -
When you make an upgrade to 4090 or 4080 with frame generation enabled, you will not be limited on CPU. Believe me even with new AMD cpu you will be limited with out frame generation,. So its not just a GPU upgrade. In a few words and final conclusion ( at least on my setup) on MSFS: Frame generation for now is the only new technology that allows you to push the limits ( cpu & gpu)
-
i guess you are not using frame generation. Because if you have this enabled, you could cap fps to 60 and have stable fps even on high demanding airports and aircrafts I just bought Dell Alienware AW3423DW Ultrawide QD-OLED HDR Curved Gaming Monitor and 30 fps looks very bad ( jerky with micro-stutters)

DX12 likes VRAM. The more the better, 100%

when you have a Hungry Beast like 13900k, there is no reason to tweak or turn off any core. I remember when i had 8700k and i was always on tweaking mode ( turning HT off/on, delid with liquid metal for better temps etc) . New CPU technology in my opinion don't need any extra tweaking. 13900k is already running at 5.5ghz in all cores with out extra overclocking and combined with 4090 you have the best combo for MSFS.

Is Frame Generation Good For MSFS?
Seth2021 replied to Sky_Pilot071's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
As i am also Photographer & Visual Artist i strongly suggest this monitor: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/alienware-aw3423dw Best option if you want great results in Photography/Graphic design and MSFS
