  1. I have stopped using XP12 (reluctantly) because of this issue. Its a cartoon darkening effect thats spoiling the experience for me. As others have pointed out even real world airline pilots have chipped in saying its not like that IRL on the flight deck - like flightdeck2sim. The fact that Laminar are working on fixing it shows that its a bloop bloop and it needs to go. I read that this will NOT be dealt with in the next update but we can hope it comes this year.
  2. Ahh ok , got it. The custom views have been set and I'll set numpad to load them. Thanks!
  3. Oh wait, I was not doing this. I was retrieving with ALT + Top row # Will go start up the game and try again using numpad to go back to the view. I had missed that part.
  4. Thank you all for your help! Unfortunately a bit of a road block... CTRL+ALT+top row # works initially - but it does not stick. The key forgets the view I told it to remember after about a minute 😞 Example of problem: I bound CTRL+ALT+TOP ROW 9 = a center console cam view on the A320 I press ALT+TOP ROW 9 and the camera moves to the center console cam view 👍 However about a minute or two later while flying when I go back to ALT+TOP ROW 9 its forgotten my view. Instead the cam is facing the windscreen from the captains seat. Now for SURE its something I am screwing up because I can see none of you on Avsim are seeing such issues. I'll reset all the key bindings from the menu maybe!
  5. I find it an extremely clunky laggy design. The hallmark of a good site is that when you land there for the first time you intuitively know where to go , how to navigate, how to search, the categories are neatly laid out. This redesign is like someone emptied a sack of rice on the floor. Stuff all over the place. On another note Theres one thing I always wished for that was not there in the old design either. In the liveries description there should be a mandatory field for the uploader to select from two choices: Real world Fictional The site should then allow us to apply filters like: Show all Show real world only Show fictional only
  6. Ok thanks Im back on the game now and will do that and see if it works for me.
  7. Hi Crew Wondering if someone could advise. Setting up some custom camera views in the Asobo A320neo using the numpad. Steps Using arrow keys I move to the selected view point I press CTRL + numpad key to bind the view to that key I press the numpad key and the cam moves to the view. This works fine. I then make a change to the view. Maybe I tilt the camera up a bit more to look at the overhead better etc. Again I press CTRL + numpad key to bind the view to that same key I press the numpad key and the cam moves to the view - and it does not reflect the change. It stays locked on what I first created. Example I make numpad 4 = look left 90 degrees and save it I go back to numpad 4 & change it to look left 60 degrees and save it However when I go back it is still numpad 4 = 90 degrees. It wont register the 60 degrees. It ignores any changes. I deleted the camera.cfg and the game made a new one but it has the same issues.
  8. Thats interesting and a clever idea. Right now when in the soup in FS20 the wings are clearly visible and pin sharp which kind of takes away the feeling of being in cloud. I always hope for high level cloud deck when on airliners riding as a pax. On a recent Emirates flight I got my wish. While at cruise at FL380 we came up a thin layer of clouds just 100-200 ft above us. At the Mach 0.82 speed we were at the sensation of speed and power was amazing. I was just glued to the window watching the raked wingtip reaching up to them as we whipped past.
  9. If FS24 creates clouds like that I'll never leave the house. This is what I would really love. While FS20 clouds look fantastic theres times where it looks bleh. Here and there the latest DCS does a better job. Hoping FS24 will ramp it up. Hoping also for the wings to get obscured as we zip through them. But that will mean applying physics to them which will tax our PCs.. Come on clouds!
  10. You quit playing the game just because of that? Its a fantastic title, why miss out completely because of "historical" weather? You can config the weather any way you want so that close to arrive just take a minute to place the clouds and wind where you want them.
  11. Yes, I have seen these. Its a rewind back to FSX totally. The Bing images need a massive update. But what I wish they would do is at least generate forest cover with the 3D trees instead of reminding us about horrible FSX bathroom tile and carpet textures. Will FS24 be addressing all this I wonder.
  12. That is FS9? Unbelievable! Great shot. You got it tuned just right!
  13. I never see any ads, anywhere on the internet. I cant even remember what an ad looks like. Even on YouTube I see no ads. On Windows I use Firefox browser with the following extensions: uBlock Origin (adblocker) I Dont Care About Cookies (never see another cookie prompt again) Privacy Badger On Android phone, I use Kiwi Browser (based on Chromium) with the same extensions. Im not familiar with iOS apps but Im sure you can find similar. All the ones I mentioned are free.
  14. This is accurate. We all have those go-to fav plans when we just want to fly ASAP. I live in S.E Asia, my fav routes: SIN-KUL-SIN (Singapore-Kuala Lumpur) ILO-CEB-ILO (Iloilo-Cebu) TPE-HKG-TPE (Taipei-Hong Kong) BKK-HKT-BKK (Bangkok-Phuket)
  15. Thanks both for this info , appreciated.
  16. Is this plane at the "casual" level? I use the Asobo A320neo a lot. FlightAware for route search -> create route in LNM -> load plane at map screen -> Fly. Does ATR allow this or is it more complex? Thanks for any info.
  17. Great video thanks for the share. We are so spoilt with this game and all these amazing freeware mods. I sometimes go to flightsim dot to and mind is constantly blown by the excellent freeware being churned out. From the little (mod to hide the menu triangle) to the large (this A380) and everything in between. Big shout out to the creators 🙂
  18. I was a holdout for spinners and then one day upgraded an old laptop I had with a Samsung Evo SSD. The difference was staggering for me with Windows 10 booting from cold and dark to sign in screen in 4 sec vs. 5 minutes of grinding to get to desktop. I then fitted Evo's to my gaming PC and haven't looked back. There is one thing the old spinners excel at - storing vast amounts of movies & music. All that stuff I keep on the spinners because speed is not a factor. The set up I have is: SSD 1: Windows 10 OS only SSD 2: MSFS Only SSD 3: XP12 Only Spinner 1: Games Spinner 2: Music & Game Mods Highly recommend going for SSD!
  19. Same. I've never had a problem since Day 1 that I got the game. I leave all 350GB worth of addons in Community and all updates are flawless.
  20. I can understand keeping the payware zip files (I hear theres STILL companies that have download limits, unbelievable) but the freeware stuff I unzip into Community and immediately delete the zip. The Community folder is already in essence a backup so what I do is use Macrium Reflect to image the folder and then every week just update the image which just takes minutes. Now of course this comes down to individual preference. If you have the HD space you can set aside a drive for the zips - if you are mod crazy they gather up quickly and begin chewing up space!
  21. Interesting topic. This site explains the ChatGPT vs search engine thing well: https://bosctechlabs.com/chatgpt-vs-search-engine/
  22. I live in the Philippines and frequently travel around S.E Asia. Would love to see updated scenery for Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos & Indonesia.
  23. My "serious" flying in MSFS is in single player. Which I enjoy a lot. But once in multiplayer, anything goes! Thats what makes it fun. Try landing the 747 into Lukla...
