  1. NOW THAT ^^ Ladies & Gents, is something I feel we can ALL agree on! 🍻 No discussion warranted... or allowed on AVSIM
  2. Dj, I believe that there is no problem now that some ground rules are out of the way (AVSIM's forum rules ). All's good hopefully! Ray was just doing his volutary job as a mod, and in doing that job he saved me saying something about the ...."integrity"... of your previous flightsim install 🍻 I forgot to mention before - the nvidia profile inspector is a separate download, if you don't have it already.
  3. No argument from me - it may be a sore point to other people Heck - look at the backlash for India having a space program.
  4. WELCOME! to AVSIM Try setting fps to unlimited in the sim and 30 fps via the nvidia profile inspector . Flashes and triangles sound like graphics glitches. You may have to dial some settings back and then go from there. FSX still uses DX9 and DX10 only works successfully with the add-on DX10 Fixer I'm confused - what do you mean by that? Have you had a read through this yet?
  5. Sorry to hear that. I thought the most recent former occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. was endeavouring to bring the troops home? 🍻 Yes NASA's federal funding may be a sore point (public money), but at least there are other options - Space X could probably stick a microphone on Mars to hear what it sounds like, and Space X is a private company isn't it?
  6. Depending upon the amount of scenery (areas, meshes, add-ons for airports and regions) you may have to wait MINUTES for the sim to load.. Apologies if you are already a patient man, but in all seriousness the waiting time may lead you to think that the program has crashed. I use SceneryConfigEditor to switch off the parts of the world I'm not using before loading up FSX:SE HOWEVER, my UK install is photoreal which takes an age to load and will stick around 6% for some time. As an aside, I had thought about swapping to an SSD, but I've been lead to believe that an SSD only speeds up loading times (less time at 6%) to get flying and NOT texture loading as one is flying along in the sim.
  7. I take it this is a place where we can cultivate our inner Gomez Addams?
  8. Why? maybe drop me a PM if you like. I'd have a Chevy Camaro (perhaps not 4th gen, but definitely muscle car era and 80's IROC -Z) over a 4 cylinder Fiat anyday. The G-91 - quite pretty IMHO, but I prefer the look of the twin-engined one - the G91Y; little baby afterburners - so cute! I do have the FSX version, but need to consult the manual - I've not even flown it yet!
  9. Bonjour, Domm. My French is atrocious, not having had to use your language since leaving high school some 38 years ago! Apologies. In my opinion, I strongly suspect that there will be a clause in the agreement which will state this. HOWEVER software companies tend not to put such details at the front of their product advertisements. It is contained within the "small print" which CAN be read, but hardly anyone does so. We are not allowed to discuss EULA's on AVSIM, but I hope this discussion, up to now, would still be available to see on the forum (just topic locked rather than deleted) for info.
  10. Well one good thing about increasing the amount of satellites in orbit is that the Earth will soon have its very own Dyson Sphere and no I don't mean anything to do with the vacuum cleaner guy. Now a Dyson Sphere would usually be constructed to encompass a star at its centre. Once we completely encircle the Earth (shutting out the Sun) then at least we won't have to worry about global warming! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyson_sphere Hmm.. thinking about it, maybe James Dyson (the vacuum cleaner guy) should investigate designing a massive spacefareing vacuum cleaner to suck up all the useless space debris? 🍻
  11. at least the "camouflage" is not stealthy! Must be trying to blend in with any nearby bee colonies..
  12. Nice flight Eric. Just curious as to why you needed the mask when you were flying solo? At least we can still hear your commentary.
  13. No wing flex? On such a relatively small aeroplane which isn't a sailplane with a high aspect ratio wing? The Longitude is not one of those large new airliners with flappy wings such as the Dreamliner or A350... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSE3KxltKfg Looking at the wing view of the real thing in flight, there is hardly any flex at all. Yes, there is some, but nothing much
  14. I really must get around to watching this anime: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetes
  15. Great formation flying in the first two shots! Fourth shot looks like utter chaos at first glance, but look again, the geese are all pointing the same way...
  16. WELCOME! to AVSIM nonlondoner. Oh the irony of your first post in a flight sim forum discussing a train sim.
  17. Not sure which one's the cougar...
  18. cough.... BBS Widebodies Prologue.... cough... (I know the OP used "after centuries" for added drama).
  19. ... and crew being trained as systems operators and analysts after gaining 400 feet of altitude rather than #flythedamnplane... Mind you, my offer still stands for being self-loading adjustable in-flight ballast on a MAX return flight from my local airport... FOR FREE..
  20. Confused... if the MB339 is too fast and high, then why would you be complaining about the price for an air superiority fighter which can manage Mach 2 plus?
  21. YEEESS! Even though I don't have any of the products, I've been following this "phenomenon" of yours with interest, Ray. I'm glad you have sorted it out and documented it here. 🍻
  22. I would have also thought that airliner engines, although powerful, take a bit of time to spool up, unlike an afterburning turbojet in a fighter (far less spool up time).
  23. Sadly, this flight went all screwy near Iceland and thus never reached its destination of Copenhagen... Air Greenland's hub is at Kangerlussuaq on the western side of Greenland. They have one "heavy" - an Airbus A330-200 which is used for their Copenhagen route (most other Air Greenland flights are internal). Winter in the northern hemisphere means that there's not a lot of sunlight at higher latitudes. Climbing away from BGSF. Opinions are mixed on being able to see the Milky Way at altitude, and what you actually see. I like this: By dawn's early light.. Here you can see the lat/long waypoints of the flight plan on the MFD. After this the 'Bus entered its "What's it doing now?" procedure. Appearing to circle around a waypoint, circling but not follwing an oval as it would in a holding pattern. By deleting some points and reloading a saved flight I did get closer to Iceland. Here's the last screenshot I took before abandoning the flight. Granted I could have switched to heading mode and "manually" follwo the green line, but I was annoyed both with myself and what the plane was doing.. Hope you enjoyed the screenies anyway! 🍻
