  1. Yes, I think I agree. As much as I enjoyed the FSL 320 series in P3D -- and their product really struck me as the best that could be achieved on that platform -- I really cannot see me paying again now that I have the FENIX. I cannot think of what features they would add that would make me want to put the FENIX in the hanger and fly their version.
  2. As as been said above, the Fenix team seems to have worked really hard over the past year and a half to address these and other issues but we do not have the update yet and to be honest I will not be surprised if it does not need refinement after it is released. I am confident the 320 will become quite accurate, but for now keep on with the FS Labs but check back soon.
  3. I think he meant that BMWorld might have shelved the project after Flightbeam rushed theirs to market. I don't think there is a developer I would choose over Flightbeam at the present time. That said, the pictures of KMIA look great so if performance is indeed acceptable I may go ahead and switch out my KMIA.
  4. I am quite impressed with the NXI, particularly as I understand they did not build off of Working Title's work but developed their own unit from the ground up. Great aircraft and really nice to see a modern twin in the sim. My old tired 310 and 414 are now retired to the hanger for what I think will be very long term storage.
  5. This is what I thought when I looked at the chart but mspencer also has a point that I probably should have flown it manually. I will go back and revisit the departure and see how it goes.
  6. Quite unfortunate. I just don't have the heart to put the time into preparing a flight only to encounter all these challenges, especially the dreaded fall from the sky. I have uninstalled it now and will wait until later in the spring and try again - looking forward to the 777F now for my cargo operations.
  7. I suspect that when in a few years my wife and I downsize that I may very well purchase an x-box at that time along with compatible controllers so I can continue my flight simulation, and at a more realistic price than the $4,000 PC I used to have to buy to run the ancient code of P3D. Support for x-box has come along way and I think it has become a viable platform even for me who can use a tablet for the Navigraph functionality I require. Honestly, what Microsoft and Asobo has done is to dramatically increase the range of people who can engage in flight simulation and for that I am sincerely appreciative. Going forward I will be quite reluctant to purchase anything that cannot be sold in the Marketplace.
  8. Is the assumption that those who use an X-Box instead of a PC are ever only out for casual, mindless fun? If so, I am not sure that holds up.
  9. This is encouraging to hear. I will give it a try again later this week if all continues to see ok. I just don't like spending 45 minutes planning and setting up a flight to have the aircraft simply roll right and fall to the ground a few minutes after take-off
  10. Any word on when the failure model is to be added? That is when I will consider picking it up.
  11. They are likely working on the model, but I assume there is coding of the engine variant differences, that is, it is not just a different model. I did not mean to come across critical, I am confident they will work the issues out and I look forward to more regularly flying the 300. But for now it is parked.
  12. So we have GE engines now but the plane still falls out of the sky? I basically retired this aircraft to the hanger until maintenance can figure out the flaws.
  13. Yes, I only install ones for places I actually fly and have only 5 installed -- USA1, USA2, Canada, Caribbean and the UK.
  14. The FS Elite article stated that it would eventually come to the Marketplace, I assume after an "exclusive" waiting period. I will pick it up then as I have no desire to install Orbx Direct.
  15. I certainly find their airports are more demanding than others, but I have not experienced such dramatic stutters as are reported here and I only have a 3070 paired to a 10700K. I wonder how much of this is also impacted by settings, as I keep all my settings on High, or resolution, I run at 2K. The older developers are consistently better at optimizing. Flighbeam in particular is a master followed closely by Fly Tampa, but these are battle hardened developers who had to work through the 32-bit reality of FSX and P3D 1-3. Inibuilds certainly could work to better optimize, but I am not sure that is a priority for them and maybe that is ok, it just means you should have a system on the higher end if you plan to buy their products.
  16. Great location to base the BBJ! I have been thinking too to spec a new PC something this summer, quite excited for the roller coaster that will be 2024.
  17. Is this going to be available somewhere besides ORBX?
  18. I have to say that a flight simulation forum is one of the last places I expected to see Baudrillard be quoted -- although, come to think of it, sometimes these forums do appear to be a place of hyper-reality!
  19. I experienced the hard right turn falling out of the sky experience now, on the STAR leaving KIND. I think I am going to put the airplane in the hanger for a couple of updates and see how things pan out. Back to the 737.
  20. My download speeds are also quite good, well above average. I would say, so this may be dependent on location and regional/local infrastructure.
  21. Well, it seems they basically decided to start over so...
  22. I think what we can conclude is that neither REX nor MSFS live weather consistently gives accurate snow accumulation for all places on earth. Likely both do a pretty good job in most cases. but there are anomalies and inconsistencies. For some people this is a series draw back and frustrating while others do not even notice or care.
  23. I had assumed that the MSFS20204 announcement that came soon after the Otter was pulled was the answer he was hinting at.
