  1. Umm, I feel I did answer the OP's question - complete with Wikipedia entry. . .
  2. Not static ports; they're static wicks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Static_discharger Static Ports are part of the vacuum system for instruments.
  3. You look well back from where you should be David. I use Tack IR and the default Spit POV is about a foot back from where it should be. Move in closer so the front of the canopy is just a few inches in front of your bonedome. (I'm looking sightly to the right in this one but Aft'- Fwd' view is about right.)

  5. Are you sure you're not weather-cocking in to wind - which is how it is.
  6. The mind positively boggles with just how many things it could be; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA Personally I'm going for the Poultry Science Association; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poultry_Science_Association
  7. Not quite accurate. The FlyingIron has a Battery On switch activated by advancing the throttle lever forward to a 1/3. Cold and Dark the Battery is in the Off position. Although this is not how the real world marks are wired it can cause confusion for pilots new to the FlyingIron mark. Advancing the throttle forward switches the battery on. If you want to switch it off again you can lean forward and locate the toggle switch just forward of the throttle to do so.
  8. I would start by checking/ calibrating your control devices in Windows to check you don't have a hardware malfunction.
  9. That it might be but we're not in x-plane here. We're talking about MSFS2020
  10. South of England has taken a Frames tumble too - approx 5-8 FPS with the exception of the West Country. I never have AI planes/ Multiplayer on and always test in the C172 G1000 stock. It's taken me from smooth to stuttery so very annoying.
  11. The very bottom line is about 2 Mbps as Bert says; without Photogrammetry. This was my speed when all I had was a lousy mobile data connection from August last year until about 3 weeks ago. It works, it's jerky but it works.
  12. Yes, I have noticed a performance drop since the Update 4. Not much but enough to take me in to the red.
  13. Make sure you grab Reykjavik airport/ city and its environs. It is a work of art. https://flightsim.to/file/7627/birk-reykjavik-airport
  14. I got my first ever proper bonafide actual in-flight CTD since a couple last August flying with this GPS mod in the Seneca. After having flown it without the mod for a good 10 hours on multiple flights. I immediately deleted it from my Community folder and it'll not return. A pity as it was rather good.
  15. To assess an Update - and I know, strictly speaking you don't/ shouldn't need to do this - but I always empty my Community Folder - before getting the Update. This gives me the opportunity to assess the Sim in Vanilla - with those benchmarks that I've had for quite a long period of time now. An Update shouldn't ever be measured with stuff in your Community Folder. Do that - empty it out - Reboot - and try again.
  16. The joy of downloading that Update with my new 75 MBps Fibre Broadband that was installed yesterday (after being on MSFS2020 with only Mobile Data since August last year - with speeds rarely higher than about 8 MBps) has quite overwhelmed me. Sheer joy. In fact I'm going to have to have a glass of wine to get over it. The Sim feels a little smoother too - but that could well be placebo as I'm currently flying in Costa Rica and there's not many people about.
