  1. Oh yeah that could be an issue, guess we'll see.
  2. Some things modders just do a "better" job of than the official Dev teamd, seen the same in racing Sims throughout the years and there's plenty of evidence in the flight sim world as well. I have great confidence in Henrik and his team's abilities, far more so than Asobos in this case going on recent history. Sure it'll be interesting to see what Asobo come up with in regards to ships & traffic, but should Henrik release anything for the next sim I'll be one of the first to download.
  3. Watched it last night, certainly exciting to see what's coming but with everything that's gone on with the current Sim I'm keeping expectations low. Looking forward to more videos/info in the coming months, more interested in the User Experience side of things as to whether they'll do anything to improve VR (mainly), the menu system, in flight areas as they all need vast improvement. Would like to of heard more on the current Sim, like how many more SUs they have planned to fix bugs & issues, how many more WUs etc before they move into the next sim entirely.
  4. "biggest undertaking in flight simulation" Jorg on MSFS2024, big statement! Sounds great what they had to say, very interesting developments but as ever the proof will be in the pudding.
  5. People berated me when I used to constantly mention a severe lack of Quality Control with MS/Asobo....yet here we are again, a terrific AAU2 spoilt by needless dots & borders that any QC Team would've identified within minutes and any competent Dev team would've sorted out (had they been allowed to do so...). Whether it's a lack of QC or Jorg has final say and "just doesn't get it" who knows, but time after time we get these updates with pathetic schoolboy errors and issues, they have not learnt a thing and yet they want us to get excited for MSFS2024?!....more of the same shenanigans to come with that Sim I feel as I cannot see anything changing - they're simply not learning from past mistakes.
  6. Sounds like the Horizon Line bug perhaps, that's been there forever but not everyone notices it, unfortunately when you do it can't be unseen ๐Ÿ˜”
  7. Something weโ€™re very excited for is on Friday evening at 5:00pm Houston time (2200 UTC): the Microsoft Flight Simulator team will be delivering a keynote address at the expo! Thanks to the FlightSimExpo organizers, everyone around the world is free to watch this keynote live on our official Twitch channel. For those unable to watch live, we will upload a recording of the keynote after itโ€™s over to our YouTube channel. โ€“ MSFS Team Guess we'll find out more tonight ๐Ÿ‘€
  8. A full resolution for this issue did not make it in for the AAU_02 release, but we are targeting a fix for this in a later update. Thanks, MSFS Team Regarding the white dot issue, brushing it under the carpet like the VR bugs they've introduced... ...no that's right I don't have much faith in them...deal with it ๐Ÿ˜„
  9. Folks shouldn't be surprised, they have history of introducing new bugs and either A) partially fixing them before beta ends and then doing nothing thereafter or B) not fixing them at all. This White Dot issue was actually a Bug/Issue from before the Beta and tagged as "Feedback Logged", AAU2 Beta seemingly turned it "on" for more people, along with the white borders and yet they still don't get it fully fixed.
  10. I hope I don't suffer from this in VR, I've been watching the official bug thread on this closely. Seems like they tried to fix it but obviously didn't manage too fully (where have I seen that before....) and since then no further attempts have been made. Quite why they decided to change it for the Beta in the first place is bizarre, it's a beta for AAU not faffing around with dots & borders, save that for a full on Sim Update. In the meantime just give people the toggle - White Dot On/Off - simple!
  11. There's still plenty of time for them to improve the graphical quality of the clouds, but like you my hopes are not high going on past issues/mistakes/lack of attention to detail in this area etc etc. Best not to get too get excited, then you won't get burnt if there isn't much improvement.
  12. I'd like to see random weather/presets for flights (think one of the weather tools does this already? Could be wrong) when the Live Weather isn't working or boring full sun for the entire leg of the journey!
  13. For people that want to use it... obviously ๐Ÿ™„
  14. Contrary to popular belief round these parts, AVSim does not speak for the entire MSFS community ๐Ÿ˜‰ Although I can't see it being much different elsewhere, people will probably carry on regardless as hinted at in this thread.
  15. Even presets need improvement, imagine the ability to have different presets throughout your journey, instead of the "same weather everywhere" which we've got today. I'm hoping this will be a feature of MS24 alongside vast live weather improvements and bug fixes.
  16. oh no it will come with it's own bunch of "release issues" and no doubt some leftover bugs from the current sim (horizon line being one of them), what I mean is it will be in a better place from Day One though than the current Sim was back in August 2020. Of course it will also take time to "get there" but as I said with mods transferring over fairly quickly we won't be waiting long for it to be *hopefully* well above what we have now.
  17. In previous jobs I used weather data a lot and meteoblue were the "last resort" so to speak as they weren't as good/reliable as others, recent years they're still well bottom of the league when it comes to lightning detection, which could well explain the difficulty this Sim has with that area.
  18. MS2020 is almost 3 years in and still not mature in various areas, with tons of bugs & issues and a long list of wish list features. I think MS24 will hit the ground running, should all the mods transfer over and work out the box straight away, even if they don't it might only take modders a short time to get things moving. I don't see it as being a new sim but more a Version 2.0 of what we've got now, be interesting to see what other advancements they make.
  19. Would be great if they binned off Meteoblue, of all the weather providers in Europe they ain't that great.
  20. I'm continuing on as normal, if something takes my fancy I'll buy it, I tend to live for today and not worry (too much) about tomorrow.
  21. so you state something then ask others to ignore it? lol ๐Ÿ˜„
  22. On the contrary I don't see what they can't work alongside whatever Asobo have for us, what they deliver may well be subpar compared to what the mod teams could do.
  23. I was thinking about the mod compatibility and how important that is for MS2024 and whether it'll be as simple as pointing to the current "Community Folder" and everything will work, but then it dawned on me that the most important things to work in the new Sim will be all the Apps & Tools I use. Things like Volanta, Sky4Sim, NeoFly, LNM etc, it may well be an easy change over for them, but they would require updating by their devs to differentiate between the two sims and read potentially new information. The quickness of that turnaround will determine how much I use the new Sim on/past release day, as those tools I cannot fly without these days!
