I see the SU12 Beta threads have been removed, so chances of a hotfix for this and the VR issues are fading fast. Worst of course is the severe lack of communication - again, was this water & VR toolbar scaling change/s for specific reasons? If so what what are those reasons? they need explaining to developers, or are they bugs? "Bug logged" on the threads means absolutely bugger all as the moderators on the forum don't actually know themselves. Amazes me how the MS/Asobo can make the simple things so very hard.

MSFS: A Victim of Its Own Huge Success
MarcG replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Some of us went on holiday all happy but during the holiday got downgraded to a room with a worse view, so we complain 😉 -
Live Weather Still Woefully Inaccurate
MarcG replied to abennett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It's this in a nutshell, the original Voting thread for METAR was harvested from the Vatsim crowd and Asobo bowed to pressure without thinking through and testing it thoroughly enough, here we are well over a year later still struggling with issues it's introduced. As others have rightly pointed out, it's worse in most cases than preSU7, the "bubbles" are still evident and a great immersion killer. -
That would be a nice surprise

A surprise would be Jorg Neumann announcing they've hired some Quality Control personel to oversee Update Releases and more willingness to fix regression bugs from past updates, but yeah we can all dream right!? -
Not sure much the thinking, the usage thereof!

Is that Google earth pic from the Dev stream? Someone's getting a slap on the wrists if it was 😄

Well if RF2 is anything to go by it's not great, the BTCC cars rollover on the official tracks on certain corners (they are working on a fix for that) and 11+ years on I'm still waiting for the AI Slipstream issue to be sorted (again they are currently working on that....finally!). I think like Racing AI the AI in Flight Sims isn't an easy thing to code for, there's practically millions of variables in any given situation and you throw Live Aircraft into the mix and the workload piles up. In this case it's simply that Asobo never had the knowledge in this particular area from the outset, whether they've hired someone in recent months that's perhaps made a start to AI code who knows but at least they're now actively working on it as opposed to the first 2 years of practically doing nothing. Unlike racing sims it's very evident (to me at least) that Flight Sims are 1000x more complex, the addition of Working Title was a master-stroke and many of us thought that might be the beginning to more similar teams coming on board to help Asobo in certain areas (like AI for example), but that just hasn't happened, so we're now "stuck" waiting for update after update for things to gradually and slowly improve in lots of areas (yeah I'll mention VR here!). So all we can do is wait for the next update to see what that brings, for now though at least the AI are getting somewhere.

March 23, 2023 MSFS Development Update
MarcG replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Really!? "Here have a discount for marketplace items" That's enticing users to purchase from the marketplace, can't really understand why that doesn't make any sense 😄 -
Exactly what I'm afraid of, the GAIST update needs to be as simplistic as possible and not tied to the AIG manager stuff in any way shape or form as those programs are a bit convoluted for my needs personally Just today I tried to update, the program crashed 3 times on loading, when it did load it crashed during verify and I just gave up. Also very grateful to Kai and so I should be for free stuff, it works just fine for others so that's great for them but it was just being a pain for me today so I've uninstalled for now.

To entice them to buy marketplace products, kinda obvious really. -
This mod & ELT mixed with FSLTL is just great for me, saw my first Chopper earlier and found it on FlightRadar24, thanks again Corsten👍

AFAIK VFR 3 will go on flightsim.to when it's officially released, currently still in Beta.

March 23, 2023 MSFS Development Update
MarcG replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I've never seen an upgrade path, only the two items always listed at face value which without any discount for lower owners. Not that I want or need them anyway, standard has been perfectly fine for me. -

"Too deep in the code" to fix, easily visible in certain light conditions. -

Yes that perhaps wasn't the best quote to use there! I have posted this elsewhere; Why not follow the iRacing example; The more content you own (from the marketplace) the bigger the discount. Seems far more fair than completely ignoring a larger portion of the user base completely. Or 20% discount for standard, 25% for Deluxe and 30% for premium, that way you're not ignoring a subset of users who had different reasons for purchasing the lowest package, thus still "thanking" them for their support as well. Seems like another ill thought out marketing exercise, but this is Microsoft so why change lol 😆 -

So standard owners, (some of which may well of spent more than deluxe/premium via the marketplace), go ignored in this discount? 🤔 Seems a bit word not allowed towards standard owners just because they couldn't afford one of the other packages at the time of purchase, feed the rich eh!?
