So i use squawk box and here is the problems i have had. A friend and I were playing and i didnt see him in my FSX.. He has FS9 so how can i make it so i can see him. I can only see other FSX traffic. Then also, all i can see are VIP models. how can i see what the real planes look like? -Cameron -
Hi i have just recently upgraded my computer and re installed windows and FSX i seem to have a problem now when i run Squawkbox and then try to run FS2Crew i get SDK error but if i don't run Squawk-box then i don't get the SDK error i have res installed PMDG and FS2crew but neither makes a difference can anyone shade any light into this problem?

Hi all, SB=squawkbox AS=AS2012 after a few months of upgrading my hardware, tweaking fsx to run on an ati card, trying out rex-ess and AS to decide which, and changing my gpu to a gtx580, i can finally see the day where i will set it and forget it and get back into flying on VATSIM. I have a few questions that you may be able to help me with or not. 1. Considering the system thats in my sig(i have two monitors), would it be better to run AS and SB on a laptop in the network? 2. If yes, is there a guide or tutorial on how to set up both these programs on the network? I know AS has a chapter on network configuration, i just wonder if theres something else simpler out there. 3. Is there an alternative program to SB to connect to VATSIM? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I can't listen ATC voice on VATSIM with SquawkBox4 and PMDG 777. Otherwise I can receive TEXT ATC service. Do my setting properties have something faults? Thank you all, Best Regards, Hyun

I've read many forum posts regarding the topic and did not find one that solved the issue. I am using FS2004 with SB4 and WOAI models on VATSIM. The gear is not shown with the aircraft floating above the ground. I am aware that VATSIM does not transmit gear state. That is why I want the gear to be locked down (like in VIP models).I used the SMS generator mentioned here. Those that used the generator should be aware of the FIX_GEAR_DOWN option in the script. This changes the contact points to trick SB into believing the aircraft is fixed gear.However, this does not work for me. Apparently this works in FSX (WOAI users that have FSX can confirm this). The gear is locked down offline, however when flying online the gear remains retracted.Anyone know if I can edit the .air or where the data is transmitted on whether the aircraft has fixed or retractable gear in Squawkbox?

Though the sound level is maxed in settings, the volume of the ATC sound in squawkbox is often very low relative to the sound of NGX. So I'm having trouble when listening to the ATC, can't understand what he says sometimes. I often push "Q" key to mute the FSX when ATC is calling me, so that i only hear ATC sound. Even i lower the master volume from 50 to 10 through FMC, it is very hard to hear what ATC says. One option is to lower all volume levels through FSX sound settings but for the best experience PMDG advices to set all of them to %50, so i don't want to do that. Does anybody suffer from the same problem?

Fly in even when using PMDG777 adjust the frequency 122.80 later discovered squawkbox and not adjusted to 122.80, do not know if you have not come across such a problem? :ph34r:

So I play on Vatsim with Squawkbox 4, and I'm become really tired of seeing those dumb stuck "VIP" planes everywhere so I decided to try to make Squawkbox use the MyTraffic X planes. I used the SMS Generator from here with little luck. As I did the conversion I had dozens of unknown ICAO errors, a few hours of googling I had found the real ID for all of those planes and entered it. I tried to launch squawkbox..and it popped up another few dozen of dialogs telling me that the ICAOs were not in equipment.txt. Now Ive tried to add them there, and it still wont shut up.. Is there any easier way to do this? A premade MyTraffic X setup, a different model pack? I can't be the only person out there with these pains. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
