Flight1 Mustang ...

Featured Replies

So what are they supposed to say? Inaccurate representation? If the claim had been fully simulated G1000, or advanced technical trainer I could see starting this witch hunt for missing features but this is an entertainment title, with the modeled features accurately modeled. The nav database has been acknowledged as not being complete and will be updated. I'm surprised and disappointed by all the negativity when if you all were out enjoying what the Mustang does do rather than nit picking for any possible perceived shortcoming. I find it a really neat plane and very enjoyable to use, I didn't expect to like this little jet this much but I do.
I agree... I can't get away from this aircraft. And yes..the Nav Database needs more data. I just discovered that Courchevel and Maribel airports (French Alps) are not in the DB. Hopefully they'd get that fixed. This is one awesome aircraft.Manny

Regarding the datbase, yes, certain NAVAIDS for outside the USA were acidentally left out of the final release, and the database developer is on holiday until next week, so we are kind of stuck until then.It was an accident that if we knew about a day earlier, would have been able to be in the release product.

Thanks,

Yeah, no wonder as another thread started by Tabs from PMDG concerning the Mustang and which was not positive enough was simply deleted yesterday morning...
Yeah, I was wondering what happened to that thread, it sort of disappeared into thin air and I did not sense any violation of forum rules, everybody who knows Ryan Maziarz knows him to be a 100% gentleman and he writes the same way. Ryan is not a "commercial" member - he is a a user like everyone else.

It would be on page two-let's not start another conspiracy please. As Tom mentioned in the "I only see one page" thread there are some growing pains with the forums.

Geofa, I happen to see all the pages, I don't see his post on page 1, 2, 3 or 4, the search also doesn't show it. So are you telling me the forum is so messed up that posts disappear on their own??

I see it at the bottom of page two-perhaps that is mod mode though. As for the forum-we are all trying to get used to how it works. I'll try to find out what is up.

I realize that Ryan's status on AVSIM does not indicate him being a commercial member but I do believe his involvement with PMDG's development team should. I didn't find Ryan's post to qualify as constructive criticism but looked more like an agenda to discredit this new release from a competitor.

When his post will eventually be revived everyone will be able to arrive at his/her opinion. Needles to say I strongly disagree with the above. Ryan has been a loyal Flight1 customer with over $1000 spent there (so he told me).

Doesn't matter how much he has spent with Flight1 or any other competitors products, he is on a competitors development team. Constructive criticism is one thing, this Mustang G1000 witch hunt with the underlying agenda to descredit since it doesn't cover 100 percent functionality... or features one person decided were the only ones important to them has gotten out of hand. This is an entertainment product, has so many features that do work well and work like the real unit, not the simplified FSX version. Real world training for this G1000 is far more expensive than this $55 product that includes a fully modeled aircraft! PMDG does do jetliners well, I even have some of their original work for FlyII, but in all fairness of competition, do their jets have WAAS capability? Does their visual modeling simulate icing?

Whoa, Zane, back the truck up. PMDG doesn't have any products released or in development that directly compete with the F1 Mustang. Ryan's involvement with their team on the 747 and MD-11 doesn't disqualify him from airing an (exceptionally informed) opinion as a customer of another product.I just saw that Eaglesoft released their Citation X v2 today, complete with FMS...and for FS9, no less. They're already working towards having SID/STAR capability via Navigraph navdata updates starting next month, so there, I would think, lies the real competition to the Mustang, especially for those who see a developer commitment to SID/STAR data and regular navdata updates as important, or for those who can't get FSX to perform well enough to justify buying FSX-only add-ons.They both come with 30-day money-back guarantee via the F1 wrapper, so a head-to-head comparison is possible.Gentlemen, start your engines...CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

I am backed up Bob! And no PMDG is not competing directly with this product, but I also know that a couple of louder voices squawking do have an agenda and are trying to rile things up.

All I'm seeing here is an ad hominen attack against a respected member of this community who has voiced an unflattering opinion of the product (an opinion which has since mysteriously disappeared). When somebody attacks the person, rather than addressing the issues he raises, it suggests to me they do not have good counterargument. If you truly have cause to believe there's some nefarious agenda at work here, lay it out.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Wow - "witch hunt" and "discredit" - do you have any proof of that? I never ever heard Ryan reply to anybody who was criticizing a PMDG product on their forum with similarly accusatory language.

Michael J.

Bob,Ryan's not the one I am pointing out with the bigger agenda. Those with the agenda though were hopping onto his post and using it to further their discrediting the Mustang and its G1000 simulation. I am pretty sure I met Ryan in Seattle with the PMDG team at AVSIM's conference and I don't have it out for him. He is on the other hand a member that should be considered a Commercial member because of his involvement with PMDG's development team. Now when I have a patient that has been seeing another doctor I don't start railing about what training that other doctor doesn't have, how I think their treatment has not been as good at that doctor's hands or how I might think I am a better doctor, that is unprofessional conduct. Now Ryan does have a right to opinions and had they been discussed in a different manner I might have taken the post differently. BTW I am not the one that alerted about that post but I did agree that the overall tone of the missing feature list and his involvement with a competitor made the post look in poor taste. Ryan might not have even thought about that before hitting the send button, I don't think he would purposefully get involved with railroading a Flight1 product.
