August 22, 200916 yr Author Bird dung shouldn't be the only thing on the window if those animals are implemented. How about simulated birdstrikes?Microsoft wants the game to be accesible to all ages, so they don't put any kind of violence in FS or any animals being hurt. Here is one thing that I would like:*In FSX if I do an IFR flight and its less than 90nm from the beginning the ATC tells me to expect vectors to rwy XX approach at airport XX. Please fix this. I think your supposed to get vectors when your about 40nm or closer or on your final fix....Almost fogot, yesterday I depleted my fuel on approach to the airport and landed safely only one problem.... I couldn't get to my parking spot! :(*Please put in some kind of option like a tow truck that will take you to parking or fuel if you landed with a dead engine See You In The Skies...gman!"Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done." - Elbert Hubbard
August 22, 200916 yr I can understand Microsoft not wanting to have an uneccesary rating on Flight Simulator, and of course I wouldn't want the younger simmers or those who object to such graphics to be subjected to them if they dispproved. However, it would be nice to have a setting that permits bird strikes, and even though many disagree, I would also like to see better crash modeling. It is not my intent to nose dive into someone's back yard, but it would nice to have tires blow on an excessively hard, overweight landing. Perhaps a password protected setting within FS could permit this. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher

August 24, 200916 yr I've been wanting tire blowouts since fs98. It would be nice to have a little consequence for driving the aircraft into the concrete or landing 10,000 pounds above maximum landing weight. Right now it's just the two extremes; no crash or crash. Dan Schultz REX Latitude BETA Team Member https://rexlatitude.com
August 24, 200916 yr Author Some more. Things just keep coming. First of all I love repaints, but I don't like it when you have a repaint and can't change the tail number. Please make some kind of system where a painter creats a custom font for tail numbers, that would make life easier! It would be very nice if we can have all objects with lighting reflect of a metal aircraft at night, or maybe a different reflection map at night! August 27, 200916 yr Let's hope the next FS isn't the shoot-em-up or the fantasy type. I wouldn't want a fantasy FS on my desktop. My wish list:better weather and more wind effectsmore hi-quality airports and if possible, remove the stupid barns from citiesmore new aircraft like A350 and 787better AI aircraftreal world clouds: eg. there is a hirricane in the Atlantic ocean, make that happen in the simbetter VCsless robotic ATC and add regional accentsbetter airport lightscrash effects (not because I want to blow things up)more realistic night sky: FSX has ZERO light pollutionhave pop-up windows to replace the menu-style options menubetter flight dynamicsno more fictional airlines like world travel airlines and suchmore military ops (again, not the shoot-em-up type, just because carrier ops are fun)PS: download FS Passengers if you want some primitive crash effects like ditching and tire blows :(
September 20, 200916 yr Author AI improvements:Optimize AI performance please!Make AI hold if they are off schedulePlease make the ATC space planes at the right distance, that way you don't end up having to go around 3 times. For go-arounds, please make the distance you have to travel away from the airport less! One time I had to go 60nm out!!!! See You In The Skies...gman!"Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done." - Elbert Hubbard

September 21, 200916 yr Author I reckon suggestions are best to be added here, into the latest 'A new simulator' thread. http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showforum=109 I don't mean to be rude or discourage the developers, but I don't think Aerosoft can beat what has been produced over all these years. X-Plane has tried and other freeware flight simulators have tried but at the end of the day they never live up to the expectations of most users. I kind of feel a loyalty to Microsoft FS because other brands may have different policies and rules, but Microsoft is very open to suggestions, even though they are a large corporation. They also have a large community, with a large base of freeware and payware developers. Don't worry Microsoft really is developing the next Flight Simulation game as we speak. Its been said by Phil Taylor in his blog many months ago that ACES is back and is part of Microsoft Game Studios, and if you ask n4gix, he may give you some details. They just have been silent about whats going on though. I even remember someone that was laid off at Microsoft was rehired and he wrote in his blog that he is back in business and is glad to be back and they are working on a secretflight simulation game.... and no i doubt that it will be arcade style, and it will most likely not come out on the Xbox due to hardware limitations and other reasons (user base, etc, etc. I've talked about this before, look @ my sig) See You In The Skies...gman!"Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done." - Elbert Hubbard

September 28, 200916 yr Author The transition altitude is different depending what country you are flying over.Yes, but I mean in the USA. Which reminds me... In Europe (possibly excluding part of Russia) the transition altitude should be 6,000 ft (FL060) See You In The Skies...gman!"Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done." - Elbert Hubbard
September 28, 200916 yr Yes, but I mean in the USA. Which reminds me... In Europe (possibly excluding part of Russia) the transition altitude should be 6,000 ft (FL060)What do you mean by should be?In the UK the transition altitude is 3000 ft unless otherwise notified. To the best of my knowledge (I haven't checked recently) at Heathrow it is 6000 ft, at Manchester it is 5000 ft, and at Birmingham 4000 ft.Also transition altitude is always given in in feet, never as a Flight Level. The tranistion altitude can be AS LOW as 3,000 ft, but around Heathrow, which has the most air traffic in the UK it is 6,000 ft. European authorities are thinking about standardizing it anyway... And yes transition level is given in ft, but I am not transmitting to an ATC or filing a flight plan right now, its just a shorter way to write it online. Anyway, I guess it is incorrect because saying FL060 is stating the transition level and not transition altitude See You In The Skies...gman!"Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done." - Elbert Hubbard
