July 1, 200916 yr I have been waiting for them to come on with any GA product that works on Vista 64 bit. But there is no news and no input from developers/ Lou Betty in long long time. Does anyone know if he has retired or what?

July 2, 200916 yr Thanks. Still doesn't give much info about GA part of DF. But will wait and see.I believe some, including myself, have provide the info necessary to make the Dakota work for you. I'm sure someone, including myself, would be more than happy to share the info required to swap the GPS included, which I believe is your issue.
July 2, 200916 yr Lou has been going through some really tough times thanks to the recent global recession and his other businesses. It all started last year I believe in which he ended up selling his co-owned plane (the very Piper Dakota sold on Dreamfleet's website). He's still around he just needs some time to get back on his feet. FSX and the debacle that happened upon it's release splitting the market didn't help either. I talked to him a little while back and it sounds like in due time he'll be back. Now that FSX is the mainstay, in a few years they'll only be one sim once again to develop for. That's really going to bring allot of things full circle in our payware add-on community is one standard sim again. For many of us FSX is still too much (I use FS9 exclusively myself). In a couple of years we should see some nice products from both Dreamfleet and a few other developers appearing on the market. As far as I know for the record the updated DF727 is still coming along. CaptainSim from what I hear did an outstanding job with theirs for FSX so it stands to reason Dreamfleet will come back strong with their version. This economy has been very tough for many of us, myself included, who makes money designing custom homes. Needless to say, I have taken quite a hit, and sometime wonder if I'll make my next mortgage payment, let alone worrying about the next FSX release.Life is much larger than this little obsession we have :(

Tetering on the brink of bankrupcy and not knowing is the worst of it. I dunno, I've been in work force for over 30 years and have not seen anything this bad.I believe some, including myself, have provide the info necessary to make the Dakota work for you. I'm sure someone, including myself, would be more than happy to share the info required to swap the GPS included, which I believe is your issue.I saw your post. Unfortunately telling me to just swap GPS sounded like a very daunting task. Just saw Al's insturction. Will give it a try.
July 2, 200916 yr I saw your post. Unfortunately telling me to just swap GPS sounded like a very daunting task. Just saw Al's insturction. Will give it a try.If you need any help, just ask. There are a few folks here that can walk you through the swap and get you up and running. The DF Dakota is worth this little bit of 'hassle'. :(
July 2, 200916 yr For me DF will remain the best GA developper so far.I hope everything is OK with Lou. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
July 2, 200916 yr I too hope to see them alive again. Their Boeing 727 is one of my favorite airplanes and I'd find it a shame to see the 727X be broken off, even though I don't have FSX installed. I think Captain Sim should have some competition, is why.Anyway, read the thread at Flightsim.com, and I hope that was is said there, is true. It all started last year I believe in which he ended up selling his co-owned plane (the very Piper Dakota sold on Dreamfleet's website).I'm under the impression, that he's been a co-owner of a Cessna 210, since selling the Dakota (as he posted some video's of it). As to Lou's other business interests, I have no idea. But "my" business is certainly feeling the global recession.....L.Adamson
July 2, 200916 yr Commercial Member Why doesn't Lou just simply answer the questions himself? :(Good point Ron.The bottom line is everyone is feeling the effects of the economy either local or global so that really is a moot point unless someone is expecting to support an extravagant lifestyle on FS business. There is certainly more to the story just like there always usually is... But I sure would not be holding my breath.Regards,Jim

July 3, 200916 yr Author ..............so my expectations were too high after all :(Paul, is the global recession making it hard to maintain your new Cessna Mustang and the Yacht? Get rid of the extra Chef./Good point Ron.The bottom line is everyone is feeling the effects of the economy either local or global so that really is a moot point unless someone is expecting to support an extravagant lifestyle on FS business. There is certainly more to the story just like there always usually is... But I sure would not be holding my breath.Regards,JimNot everyone feels it the same way. For example, The 10% unemployed have it a lot worse than the 90% who may have just lost value in their IRA. ;). But seriously, I know the darkness of depression that can be caused by fighting fruitlessly to keep your business, home and livelihood. Its during these times that you may not wanna get out of bed, nevertheless respond to people like me who whine about the Dakota not working in Vista 64>I hope you are okay Lou. If things are really bad, my prayers are with you.
