October 3, 200916 yr Are there files already that are already downloadable? All I tried so far did not exist yet.
October 3, 200916 yr Look here Wow! Spectacular! Awesome photo scenery. Looks like a lot of downloading but hopefully it will become available soon or perhaps you have to register and login to get it?Jim Young
October 3, 200916 yr Available soon... i'm still waiting to download this beautifull scenerry and airports.
October 3, 200916 yr Moderator I note that Frank Dainese is a member of the team. He's made his spectacular hi-res Alps scenery available by request for the past year, and I've managed to grab nearly all of it by now.http://scenarialpinifsx.blogspot.com/Those files are massive, but it was definitely worth the download time, and occasional frustration when a download might time out at 98% and had to be restarted... :( I am somewhat taken aback by the sheer number of individual "tiles" that will be required to complete the entire coverage area... Yikes! :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

October 12, 200916 yr Hmmm... I get an "Unknown Host" error message when I go to the OP's link.so when I try to register, it says I am not a valid user...sort of like being called a foreigner while travelling overseas and then using the toilet on the plane only to read the sign "do not throw foreign objects into the toilet".I tried both private and company. No joy, cant register, but checking a few tiles it appears that some are uploaded. October 12, 200916 yr Would be nice if there were download packages. Individual tiles is just too laborious. - Aaron
November 10, 200916 yr Hmmm http://sirx.flightsimulatorcenter.com/ seems to be having server issues... Dean MountfordUltimate VFR
November 10, 200916 yr Not just Italy but Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia Wow! Looks like an extremely impressive project. 150 airports as well. Looks like quite an undertaking. I'm not sure my ISP would be happy though! 400Gb Blimey.Rhydian
November 11, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi, I think its still not available for public download, just for beta testers etc. I have to say, I almost wet my pants when I played the sample video of Frank Dianeses Northern Italy section, that is at the bottom of the page. Have you seen it? !!!!! Its completely unbelievably fantastic !! What really impressed was the colourization, and crispness of the scenery, like nothing I have ever seen before using either Tileproxy or photoscenery ( and I know about both!) I would really like to know how long before this is available.A very excited Mark !!

I would love to know when it is available. I notice on the forum at SIRX that they are waiting for clearance from the Italian 'Ministry of Environment' That was written on the 3rd of October 2009, so i assume they are still waiting for confirmation. Hence why it is free. It feels like it's too good to be true, doesn't it?Rhydian
November 11, 200916 yr Commercial Member The only headache I can see is how people will get hold of it. Obviously the tile option is for people to choose which area they want, but it would be a shame not to grab it all, especially the swiss alps etc. Can you imagine how long and how complex it would be trying to download it all.......The only way round that would be to get them to send on a hard drive. I wonder if we could open channels of communication to discuss the possibility. I would gladly pay return postage to ship the drive out there for a product of that quality. Hell, I would even fly down there!!Cheers,Mark
