November 24, 200916 yr Thanks for the reply Tim. I guess that is one of the things with development, there are always bettter products coming out and the FS9 player is always seeking the best experience possible. So if REX really is a notch above existnig products then we will have to drop them by the wayside. For instance I dont use ActiveSKy graphics as I already have Flight Environment but its all about finding the best combination. But after looking at some of the other screenies on the REX forum, it does look a good step above anything else out there. What are the features in the REX weather part that are different or better than AS6 that may make us leave our comfort zone for pastures new? Also, how do you get your aircraft textures so crisp in your demo shots? I have my aircraft set to High textures in FS9 but I dont get them looking anywhere near as good as your planes?

November 24, 200916 yr "ever since I learned how to up the cloud coverage in the FS9.cfg file" Whats this then? Please do tell us more about this setting etc.Thanks.I dont believe you can set it higher there or different then one can fromwithin the sim.Anyhow, interrested in REX for FS9.. the weather depiction in FSX was very good, lets hope its the same in FS9.Come on, release it, so we can buy it!Johan
November 24, 200916 yr Hi guys,I was having great problems getting ASA to depict overcast conditions (lots of big gaps still visible from above).Jim at the HiFi supprot forum posted the following helpful hinthttp://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=264726Which links to the following thread:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=192464It basically says "Hi, try this settings in the FS9.cfgCLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY=12 CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE=12 (Clouds will get enhanced to the horizon, frame impact possible due to the larger draw radius of the clouds) The default values are 8. Don't touch the sliders in the settings menu, or they will get overwritten by the default ones. This settings gave me a complete overcast conditions, the are no holes anymore. This has really changed the FS9 experience. You can use this settings together with active sky."I implemented the above and it made the world of difference.Only my opinion (I could be imagining it, but I don't think so)I hope this all helps.Neil
November 25, 200916 yr Wow, very nice indeed! I'll be getting REX for FS9 for sure... how far we have come since Fly! clouds! :(Question: I'd like to install REX on a secondary computer and make it communicate with FS9 via WideFS. Will that be possible? Thanks!Regards,Jure
November 30, 200916 yr Commercial Member Jure -Thank you for your interest in our product. To answer your question - Yes you can run REX on a second computer utilizing WideFS with FS2004.We will be providing a manual with the product when released which will include the procedure on how to do this. The process is pretty simple. Reed StoughManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com

November 30, 200916 yr For those who are pestered by the "haze layer" there is a good fix available in the avsim library hereYou can choose a colour to suite the enviroment and it also partially obscures the ground view. Plus it 98% eliminates the haze layer that follows your a/c when flying at altitude. One point of fact regarding haze in real life: Try standing on a high mountain and you will see the effect. From altitude one is often able to see through the haze and identify ground features (sometimes with little apparent loss of sharpness!) However as you approach the haze layer boundary visibility through the haze layer will diminish to the point where when one is within the haze there is no visibility! This is caused by the haze molecules scattering the light (you can see the effect with car headlights in fog) from a distance more light molecules strike the eye from a ground feature thus making it visible. But from within the haze almost all the light reflected from a ground feature is scattered so rendering it invisible. So, fs9 is not too far off reality. Except that the transition is quite sudden and for the UFO haze layer that follows the a/c wherever it flies. This last effect cured by the above link.Vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
November 30, 200916 yr I want this soooo much. I have for FSX and it revamped it to a degree that I hadn't imagined before. The clouds specifically are great. I will await this one patiently. December 1, 200916 yr Hi Gang.Just a quick question if I may. With the imminent release of REX for FS9.1, and the ability for us to download and install it for use in FS, what does this mean for our other add-ons that we use at the moment. For example, I currently use GE Pro, Flight Environment and ASv6.5. Will we have to un-install those products to be able to use this one.I hate to be the first person to sound negative or hesitant regarding a New product, I am Not, but I am simply trying to ascertain weather or not we need to remove the other programs first.I am looking forward to this very much, but I can also see the potential for some tricky or even disastrous problems for some people if this is not done correctly, would textures become confused etc or even mixed up?I hope you understand my points and slight hesitation. Many thanks.
