FS9 tweaking guide?

Featured Replies

Hey all,I was wondering of there is some kind of FS9 tweaking guide, like there is a FSX tweaking guide? Against what I expected, I have a FS9 installation that gives quite bad FPS. So yeah, bad FPS with GE, detailed airports and detailed planes and lots of AI, but still. I want to get UT too, and I want to have good FPS. Otherwise I might as well stay with FSX... Anybody know of such a guide for FS9?

Its a long guide, but it is worth it.

HiThere's a lot of debate on just what are the best settings in the cfg file and I got a bit fed up keep editing it by hand,So I've been working on a small utility to 'tweak' the cfg file via a safe and simple user control - check boxes, drop down lists etc, and incorporating any useful tips and settings I can find.Currently its a bit rough being written just for my own use and a work in progress, but if anyone's interested I'll perhaps tidy it up and upload it. In addition to "tweaking" FS9, may I suggest making sure all unneeded background programs and processes are shut down? Ken Salter's Alacrity program is freeware and does this quite well.Dale

Hello,

You can't. Avsim purges all image files after 30 days.
That's why I never use the Avsim image posting option (useless)Always post images on a third (free or pay) party host like Photobucket and post the image link in your message.Provided your host account still alive and you don't remove your images .. your images will still there :)Regards.bye.gifGus.

Joe and Gus,Many thanks for the response. Sad!!!!David
