PMDG 737 NGX: The View Forward

Featured Replies

Theoretically I would suppose it is possible to create something for FSX that could simulate IAN if the FMC has all the necessary stuff in there and the communications equipment fit is up to the job. It's an interesting notion - since that capability has been an option on NGs for the past seven years, which is the same time that the VSD and NPS options became available on NGs, it is possible that the NG which was the basis for PMDG's simulation may have had that option installed, but then again maybe not. Since it appears PMDG are literally modeling a real aircraft they had access to, one presumes the extent of that modeling will depend on the options that the real one had, one of which does appear to be VSD as far as we know.I guess we'll have to wait and see. If it is in there, that's gonna be fun for the Radar Contact developers, and some of those VATSIM dudes might have to do a bit of reading up too LOLAl

Not to mention Aerosoft starting to find a way to model the receivers :-) only few airports chose to implement the IAN receivers and replace their MLS ones if already installed (Dusseldorf,Stuttgart, Paris)
Ok captains.. the last of the radio panels (for now). You'll see more once we set up the final layout to accomodate additional options for your PMDG 737 NGX (HGS/HUD Control!).This will give you something to chew on for the weekend... and is slightly more than a sliver :( More pics next week!
Will you emulate a vacuum cleaner too? At least a humid tissue. :(

Just want to be clear here - the aircraft we had access to is being used for the bulk of the visual model stuff - we're not limiting the systems and options to what was on that particular airplane. You've already seen the Collins MCP for instance, which was not on that aircraft, it had the older Honeywell system. This is not any kind of guarantee that all options will be present, but you shouldn't get the idea that we're modelling just one specific set of options for the airplane based on one real aircraft, that's not the case.

Fair point, I guess even a well-specced NG can't have two MCPs lolAl

Just curious...what's the poly (tri) count on that console?Goran
Still unanswered.Looking at it, it looks to be quite high.Vin or Ryan want to elaborate?I'm a 3D modeler, and going by the renders, the entire aircraft looks like it could be well above the 150 000 polygon mark.Goran

Still unanswered. Vin or Ryan want to elaborate?
No, we really don't care to elaborate.

Many thanks for that reply Vin!! :( It's the kind of reply I was told to expect. Looks like I lost the bet.Goran

I will like to have a new capture of the 737 NGX

It's the kind of reply I was told to expect.
It's the kind of reply any sensible person (specially those close to the same business) should expect. Demanding answers to divulge proprietary data is not very cool.

Demanding? Seeing into something that really isn't their is not very cool. Hardly saw his question as "demanding"... :(
Why would we divulge info like that? There are competitors you know.
Agreed, but which part was "demanding"?
Agreed, but which part was "demanding"?
I tell ya .. if someone asks, gets no reply and then asks again with comments like "still unanswered" then for many people he/she is demanding an answer. Got it?

Actually, I don't "got it" Michael. If I ask something and don't get an answer, I repeat the question. Being ignored is not a good response. If it is in your world, then I apologise for my demanding manner.I certainly didn't demand anything. And I apologise if I came across as such. Ryan, you certainly don't have to divulge info like that. But I saw some other tech questions get answered and figured the poly count is hardly secretive. I was counting on a slightly better worded response from Vin, but hey, it is what it is.Apparently, you folks have found something in 3DS max that is better kept to yourselves. Looking forward to adding it to my stable of PMDG aircraft!Goran
