Yet Another Citation X 2.0 Thread

After reading the review and seeing the AVSIM gold star, I started asking myself why I hadn't purchased this addon yet. Was it because of all of the people complaining about bugs? Was it because the VC is mainly 2D? Whatever the reason, I didn't purchase it.Until now... :(I've got to say this is the addon I have been waiting for for a VERY long time. I cannot believe I didn't get this when it came out. I feel like an idiot participating in the threads and criticizing it without having tried it myself. I apologize to the Eaglesoft team if I said anything stupid. :(I haven't yet had time to do a flight by the books. I'll be doing that tomorrow after my Accounting class in the morning. I did take it up for a spin, even with the warnings blasting my ears out on takeoff. She flies absolutely wonderfully and she looks great too. Not just the exterior, but the VC is also very nice despite the panel being mostly 2D. Every gauge is crystal clear at my 1680 x 1050 resolution. The included liveries are beautifully done as well. With Active Sky Advanced, along with a whole host of scenery and environment enhancements, I enjoyed 35-39 FPS on the ground and over 40 in the air. THAT is an achievement in itself for an aircraft this complex. It easily passes my "flyability" test and won't be thrown in the trash because of FPS problems.I'd hope anyone still holding out on this plane would grab it and take it for what its worth. I can't wait to fly it properly tomorrow! Thanks to the whole Eaglesoft team for filling in perhaps the biggest gap in my FSX hangar! :(If/when the VC enhancements are released, this very well may be one of the best FSX addons there are.(I'll be sure to add some more comments after I make a proper flight)

Many thanks Kiwi. B) Our thanks to Bert and Marlon for their insight into what for us has been a labor of love.Something about Cessna's CX750 just begs to be done to the highest level and my hat is off to Bill Leaming, Bobby Hayes, Chad Christopher, Ed Wilson, Lonny Payne, and every Beta Tester, Livery Artist, Documentation Contributor, Support Helpers, etc. for accomplishing something very special. As you mentioned, the "sweetened VC" will be made available at no extra cost whenever it is completed.Meanwhile, take a look at the fully dimmable night lit text in 2D and VC cabin for a nice treat on those dusk or night flights. Sorry, just one of my favorite features... B)

Kiwi, just for fun slow your speed to stall and watch what happens. B)

Hello RonI bought this one just the other day (for FS9), absolutely first class. Will make the wait for the Beechjet a little easier :(

The only problem on my flight so far is some pressurization alerts. I have the pressure on NORM as per the manual but it didn't seem to work.Looks like the plane will arrive in Seattle with 7 bodies on board... :(

Thanks Mad Dog. The full boat Beechjet/Hawker 2.0 will take some time but we will finish her as soon as we can. :(

Kiwi, drop over to our support forum where we can get to a bit more depth on what/when/where/how you've experienced this... :(

How is the night lighting on this bird? Can you get to a fully dark cockpit with backlit labels and gauges - no dome? Colin

Yes. Eaglesoft helped pioneer night lighting in FS Development. Team member Bill Leaming has a longstanding post here at Avsim along with a White Paper at Microsofts FS Site.Bill wrote the paper in response to a request by MS because they had some broken night lighting features in the FSX Beta Process.VC Lighting Tutorial: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=70388Microsoft MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/esp/cc788741.aspxMore to your point, CX2.0 contains fully dimmable backlit text along with "zoned" backlit gauges. While the dome lite is available it is not expected to be used for night flying. :(

While I haven't flown it at night, I am currently doing a flight with the sun low in the sky. The dome light has been very helpful so far. I'll edit the post later if I have feedback on the night lighting. I'm not sure if it will be dark when I reach my destination. Also, I didn't run into pressurization alerts on this flight. Who knows? :(My only real criticism/request so far is to make the cabin windows lighter in color. It is very difficult to see outside of them from inside the cabin. The cabin is so nicely done, its practically begging you to sit back there and look out the side windows. This plane is an absolute blast! (if you're one of the people who call automated flight a blast, that is)
