Now that is great! Even incredible looking!
Looks extremely dark on my CRT, as if watching through a dirty glass. Too bad because the composition, etc. looks excellent.

Michael, I did find it best to watch with the room lights out, so I agree it's a bit dark. Adds to the immersion though if you watch it in the dark :( ... but even with the lights on it was not bad for me.

My CRT has three brightness settings, and I usually use the middle. It looked good, but not the brightest day.L.Adamson

Hey Jigsaw, is there anyway I can have your Trackir profile. :( I have been tweaking mine forever and still dont have it that smooth.

Thank you!

That's strange. I didn't change the brightness of the scenes, so they are just as bright as they were in the sim.. Sure, the vignette is darkening the edges of the screen a little bit, but it isn't that bad. Other than that I only reduced the color staturation a little bit and added a little bit of glow which actually brightened some of the scenes. It was filmed in the late afternoon/early evening local, so the sun is pretty low over the horizon. The video looks fine on both of my screens (Benq TFT monitor and a Toshiba LCD TV).Here's a comparison shot. As you can see the video version is a little bit brighter than the original, just the colours are a little more pale.brightness.jpg

I wish I could give you my profile but I don't even have TrackIR (yet). All the camera moves in the video were done with the EZCA (EZdok Camera) tool. ;)

The mystery solved! This color saturation did make it look gloomier and monochromatic for me - making it appear to be darker. I would of course prefer the version with no color saturation tweaks.

The gritty/retro/noir look was exactly what I was aiming for and the version I posted is my intended version and I don't have the project files anymore (over 76 GB of data!). But it does look fine really. You just shouldn't watch it with the bright Youtube website all around it, which makes it look darker than it is, because of the steep contrast. The video is intended to be watched it in Fullscreen mode. ;)

I made a video about the FTX Twin Oaks airport scenery. Since there already was at least one excellent video made on that airport I tried to add a little twist. Enjoy:

That was probably the best FS video I have seen in a long time. Absolutely amazing!

YouTube being a pain in the butt about comments, so I'll post it here... awesome! That's some incredible video-making, Patrick. I owe you a case of virtual brewskis. :(
