Sorry about the image size. Here are new versions of the shots that should be in line with the rules:cascades01v.jpgcascades02.jpgcascades03.jpgcascades04.jpgcascades05.jpgcascades06.jpgcascades07.jpgcascades08.jpgcascades09.jpgcascades10.jpg

I love trees and when I started my first flight in PNW I was blown away. It looked a lot better than the preview screenshots I had seen (most of them didn't have the final trees yet). Trees look fuller, more 3D and not as repetitive. The placement of trees is absolutely great too imho. Very varied. Below are some shots from my first flight: look at those trees!
Yeah, the trees made it in very late in the game, so they're not featured in too many posts. I was looking at Twin Oaks, which I've been developing for FTX for a while now, and just last week it hit me: I've got great shots of trees! Why not use them for the PNW package? Matt Tomkins and I did some jiggering around with them as autogen texture replacements, and the result was beyond our expectations. So at the eleventh hour, we shoehorned them in there. I'm glad we did.

J v E I'd love to see those autogen comparisons if able ;) Also, those pics where the trees are dead (I assume fires or lumber) and the autogen trees are dead! Incredible, that's really nice job there!

Great shots, Jeroen! Looking at them, I'd guess they're from around Mt. St. Helens. There's the obvious lava beds, and the tree die-off might be in the region of the pyroclastic flow. This is one of areas where Holger's hand-crafting of the terrain really shines.

So am I! :(

While I do not have the PNW addon I was thinking that it looked "bland" in comparison to FTX OZ (as with many other FTX OZ has taken my breath away). But with J Van E's shots is does look really well done. I also love the shots I seen of Cascade Locks as I flew by there in real life when I took a flight lesson out of Troutdale.Catch a look at the real deal PNW area in these videos I took in 2008....Flying over Saint Helen's

Glad you like 'm, altstiff. I have to say it's hard to NOT make nice screenshots in PNW. :( ANd btw I really liked your video's (also looked at some others). Nice! The next time I'll see how well FTX PNW compares to the real thing! :)

J v E I really appreciate those autogen shots. It looks decent on normal. I may have to buy after the demo!

Good to hear! And don't forget: these shots are taken at VERY low altitude: on normal flying altitude things even look a lot better on Normal.

Would someone be able to post a pic of Cascade Locks State? I think its KCZK.

Thanks for the positive feedback and great screenshots everyone. As I said earlier, we'll respect everyone's opinions on FTX PNW, positive or negative. It's a free world everyone is entitled to their opinion. I concur with the admins here - please don't call people morons because they have an opposing view. That's not being nice.Holger and I are working on the free demo as we speak, so hopefully we'll get that out to you soon ok?

Cheers,

John Venema

I was thinking of buying it but i would like to see a side by side shot between FTX PNW,and UTX,GEX,and FSGenesis landclass. From the screenshots i'm seeing i honestly don't see any difference.Adam

Dont forget the 400 upgraded airports they are very well done. And they blend in the scenery, so sometimes very hard to find :( I love it :( 0OR9rva53d.jpgvimg46.jpgWN7635mi87t.jpg
