When is the "new"release date?
Most likely tomorrow. We just want to ensure our pre-pay customers get the product before anyone else.

Cheers,

How soon will the demo be available? Sorry - that's my first and last "when's it's going to be released" post, but I can't wait to try the product. Mind you, the screenshots are almost selling it all by themselves! :( ThanksIan

Anyone have any shots of the Portland area? My purchase of this product is reliant on an accurate rendition of that area. Thanks!

Could you be a little bit more specific? I was very impressed by the road traffic so i made a few shots.Road traffic (15%) is enabled and i'm using the max autogen tree/building per cell "tweak" (2000/1700).I was following the roads with the FSWidgetsGMap on my second monitor and everything is very accurate.HTH!<Last three images removed for 200K file size limit>

WOW!!! The PNW is my stomping grounds and I have to say this looks incredible. I'm an FS9'r, but I'll be making the transition to FSX within the next two weeks (waiting on my computer to arrive) and this will be one of the first add-on's I purchase. Now...Anybody post me a shot of Olympia, WA and KOLM??? :(

A few folks have asked for a comparison between GEX/UTX and PNW; so, here is one comparison at Chilliwack, BC. I first want to say I am a proud supporter of GEX, UTX, FSGenesis, and FTX. These products have simply revolutionalized FSX and I wouldn't fly without them (and I don't). What I also want to say is that the GEX/UTX/FSGenesis fills one need while FTX fulfills another. So, this first image is over Chilliwack airport looking NE to the mountains using GEX/UTX/FSGenesis. I think it is absolutely stunning and years beyond what came out of the box with FSX. I also think it captures the feel of the area pretty well. 1267409428.jpgThis second image is the same shot but with FTX PNW using the same graphics settings. For those asking about framerates, you'll notice both images are capped at 25 fps with no problem and very dense autogen. This picture is also breathtaking in my opinion, but here is the difference between the products. The last image is from Google Earth of the NE of Chilliwack. FTX is more accurate in its depiction and this occurs nearly in every location across PNW. ORBX took painstaking time to manually adjust the landclass to match what is basically in Google Earth. The effect is a high fidelity depiction of PNW which includes photoscenery of PNW landmarks and upgraded airports all over the region which put the default airports to shame. 1267422473.jpg1267417830.jpgSo, for those who want the feel of the area as they fly over it as well as the rest of the North American continent, GEX/UTX simply cannot be beat. For those who want an ultra-real depiction of PNW because they either live there or are as obssesive/compulsive as ORBX, FTX PNW is the way to go. For me, FTX PNW is really about bush/GA flying because that is where all the integrated and fine details stand out. That's just my opinion though, I could be wrong :)Joshua

Jigsaw, Thank you much!!!Although it's not perfect, it now has much more of an Oly "feel" to it. The third shot just sold it for me. The road south of KOLM runs along the FBO's and State Patrol. And that screenshot really shows it where city meets farmland by the airport. The autogen is awesome. Houses here are huddled close together (mine included). Thanks again,Blakeolympia10.jpg

Try it with the right landclass installed and the right updatesUTX/GEX 109, Xclass Canada compared to google1267417830.jpgIn that, this is the same shot with UTX Canada, Xclass Canada to support the rural area, and GEX 1.09 which adds files to correct UTX housing layoutI think it is important to understand that these product all do something different where FTX focus on the specifics and products like UTX and GEX focus on the big picture and providing a very large area coverage. But its also important to note that there are a lot of users out there who don

i was waitng for Nick to add something to this and i was glad to see what he added. as many others have said, FTX or UTX/GEX do different things to some extent but they are both great products. And as it has been pointed out before they are only that , products. people's opinions are very strong sometimes but we all come to this forum because we all enjoy FSX and we want it to look and feel the best it can be. if you dont like something you can say so but one doesnt need to break something down to build up something else.Kyle

Here's a link to a real flight this morning where we shot the GPS into Salem Oregon. I re flew it in the sim this evening and PNW did a good job of recreating much of the out the window view. I welcome someone to shoot this in the sim and post a comparison.
