I am 39 (suppose to be 40 but stayed back :( ), and live in Massachusetts in the US. About 30 minutes from KBOS and about 5 from KLWM.I am an ex US Army Ranger and a Master Scuba diver hopefully by the end of this coming summer will have my long awaited instructer cert. Of course it will most likely be a very part time gig just on weekends at my local dive shop until I can someday afford that dream move to the Cayman Islands. I am also a musician like some others here. I play drums and a little guitar for fun, but spend a lot of time writing more symphony style scores on my keyboards and like to play a lot of classical piano. I am a plumber and computer tech for my main trades. Currently, like millions of others, I am actually unemployeed being that I don't work for a company, and have just been doing side work the past few months since the last computer company I worked for went under. Luckily around here I have lots of sidework that is better than most full time jobs I've had, although as we exit the cold season may need something more solid since boiler work will slow down to a crawl. If I had it all to do over I would have a tough time between picking between my two professions I wanted as long as I can remember. An airline pilot or Playboy photographer :( PS @ Andrew Dixon: Is that what that is in your pic? Haha, I always thought that was a fork lift :)
No, Elvis the Helitanker. :(

Good thread. I'm 58, a private pilot with instrument rating, and work for a local government (county) as a budget manager and economic analyst (been a bit busy lately!).I live in Boulder CO with my wife and 3 cats. My birth country is New Zealand (a small town called "Greymouth") and am now a naturalized US citizen.I love simming and am hopelessly addicted. Work means that I have to make the most of my simming time so love the ability to be able to save the panel state and do a flight in retrievable segments. I love the MD11, just where would this aircraft have gotten to had there been more money invested in a new wing.Been simming since 1994 with FS5.0 and ATP. Thanks, Bruce (Knight)

I'm a lawyer in Washington, DC (telecommunications regulatory law), a private pilot (SEL-IA), father of a two year old, and formerly (see previous part of entry) a scratch golfer. In a perfect world, I would fly my Citation to various amateur golf events with the kid(s) caddying. (And no, I do not currently own such a Citation.)

I found this interesting, I've been to Greymouth NZ... We were there in December 2007, went on a train ride from Christchurch to Greymouth and back again. I have a picture somewhere of my brother standing next to the Arthur's Pass sign where the train stopped for a few minutes.Very interesting to see who all visits here, we have people doing all sorts of different stuff from all over the globe! I'm enjoying reading it! Another thing I forgot to mention in my original post was I'm also a volunteer firefighter in our town, been on board for about 3 years now, on call 24/7 (Interrupts my flights sometimes... grrr haha).Jeff Calder

Yes- there's nowhere like home! I'm flying down there in another 2 1/2 weeks to see family, also taking a short trip to Melbourne to see more family (where I also lived for 13 years). And also doing that train ride on the way out of Greymouth with my Mum...Small world :) Bruce (knight).

I work for BAE Systems, on the Jindalee project. Rather not say any more, otherwise the black helicopters will land in my front yard. :( Cheers, Chris (Secret Squirrel) Dalgarno

BTW, I'd ask you all to have a look at the following Wikipedia link regarding the Black Saturday bushfires that Dicko would have been involved in. Him and all his workmates are true heroes that have the eternal thanks and respect from all Australians. S!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Saturday_bushfiresCheers, Chris Dalgarno

After 25 years in the transport industry I'd had enough of it, walked away and I'm now a business adviser to small and medium sized companies (and loving it!).

Im a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician for FedEx, currently at KEWR, working daily on your favorite MD-11 (or MD-10, A300/A310 or 757 or 727...) and also working part time for Air Canada, but before that I was a technician and then aircraft maintenance supervisor for JetBlue Airways at JFK, FLL, PBI, and LGA, and before that I was a flight mechanic at Polar Air Cargo, and Atlas for a short time when they merged. Simming since FS4, havent stopped since.
