Wouldn't feel right without it! :(

Depends. I use em for long airliner flights, and I have fitted the ISG ones into several FS airliners myself when they should have had one but came without one, but I also fly older stuff a lot too, and then its ADF, VORs and ATC control all the way, unless VFR.I'd say it was about 30/70 in favour of not using one, since I like hand flying things and I like old props like the DC-3 and stuff of that ilk. I've definitely got more add-on aircraft without an FMC than with one.Al

Yeah.. I generally fly real world commercial routes as listed on flightaware, so an FMC is practical and is included with all of my addons. It helps if you have a few scenery addons with AES, though, to make flying commercial routes more realistic.

Yep guilty :( Either FMC, CDU or INS Guess I am more button pusher than "pilot" :(

Tried to put one in my Cub, nothing to hook it up to.regards,Joe

:( If I had a Cub, I wouldn't try to fit a FMC into it. The joy of flying those types is doing it by hand! And I do use the FMS on the aircraft that are supposed to have one. Nice to have an fully-functional airliner-

I'm with Ed here. If the aircraft has it, I'll use it. If the aircraft doesn't have it, I'm either looking out the window or using VOR/ADF.

I don't have much time to fly lately so I use a plane where I can just get in and be in the air in like 5 minutes or so. I have the PMDG 737 planes, but I don't fly them much because of the FMC. I haven't flown the PMDG planes in a long time and I would probably have to re read the manual to get the FMC working again! If I get the time to do more flying I would use a plane that has a FMC in it. All that being said I am seriously considering getting the Eaglesoft Citation X plane (it has a FMC).

No FMC here. VOR only with the MADDOG.JimCYWG

I always do, no matter what, its how in the real world commercial pilots fly. sure you have heading and VFR, but as for now, the FMC is pretty much the go to module on any plane.

Only if the aircraft is fitted with one or if in RW is retrofitted, and then I definitely use it, but I like the challenge of steam guages, VOR, NDB style navigation, so when I want to do this I choose suitable aircraft.

The "Steam Gauges" are a disgrace in this day and age. No one should have to pilot even a PA28 in bad weather on their own, with the fuel selector down near their left ankle, relying on the ADF or the VOR for guidance when computers and SATNAV has been with us for as long as they have. Much as I am sure that non FMC flights add to the "romance" of flying, the fact of the matter is that you should use "steam guages" only as a means of last resort. Why every GA machine does not have a glass cockpit with an FMC these days is utterly beyond me.Gerry

Bah! Compass, Chart and Watch for me. I'm an IFR (I Follow Rivers) pilot. :(

I'd like to but they make no sense to me at all, I get confused looking at it so I go back to my standard autopilot with standard GPS.
