Slip, are you able to do 8xS AA w/o nHancer now? Noel

There is one issue with running 3d surround and that is the shear amount of effort required by the gfx cards. It will only allow me 2x AA before the driver informs me 'no can do, sorry'. However, with 3x 24" monitors at a res of 5760 / 1080 who needs AA?If your system can handle it then allow fsx to control AA. It is a million times more effective than via the nvidia 3D seetings.

Keith Sandford.

I use 197.45, tried 258.96 and it played up madly. So happy staying on 197.45 until I can really see a good reason to change it.

I have the AA checkbox checked in FSX, however there is still a prominent difference using 8xS so I use it. I have excellent and smooth performance w/ nHancer, so apparently it's ok. Your 1080 horizontal lines could still benefit from AA I'm sure, I know mine does.

Madyville, nHancer does'nt work with the latest nVidia drivers, but you don't need it if you follow the instructions here ... http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=34873 I'm using the 257.21 with 260gtx / i7 960 with excellent results.Russell.
Russell is right. I use 257.21 because 258.96 is buggy for FSX. The 257 drivers are far superior to the 180 and 190 series. Make sure you use Nick Needham's profiles. I use the cx8Q setting and highly recommend it.Kind Regards,Stephen

HiI "have" to use the 258.96 driver as it is the first driver for the GTX460 card. It works well for me on this fantastic Fermi based (GF104) (OC) budget card. I had used the manufacturers driver before this but upgarding to the 258.96 works well. Unfortunately I can't use NickN's enhancements as they seem to be specific for the GTX 465, 470, 480 (Fermi GF100).IMHO Like all nvidia drivers these will be a matter of taste. :( I reiterate what other posters have said nHancer does NOT work with this driver.Running at 16AF and 32AA (8xSS), (Single WS 22" monitor) I can't see how nHancer might improve on that and the latest nvidia system tools make oc a lot easier.RegardsPeterH

thanks for all your replies . a month or two back i downloaded 257 beta drivers and followed NICKn instructions which didn't work for me in case of antialiasing, my textures were shimmiring so i reverted to 197.45 drivers which have so far been stable for me .Now i think , i should give the new drivers a try(with Nickn) and report you....Wish me Luck

If you are the type of person who "needs" FSAA at 1920x1080, you need it at 5760x1080. The resolution is not increased on each monitor, therefore, you are still seeing an 1920x1080 image on each screen, only difference being it is 3x as wide. I, personally, have to have FSAA set to at least 4x, even at my native resolution of 2560x1600. Jaggies just jump right out at me.With regards to using the FSAA setting within FSX, I believe it only sets the FSAA level to 2x. So, it is in no way more effective than being forced through the driver or NHancer, that is, if you are referring to actual image quality.
