Any chance that Cascade Game Foundry might be involved with MS Flight ??? http://www.cascadega...y.com/the-team/It looks like they've got the talent !! :(
I would be suprised if they were. Why would Microsoft fire Aces and then go back to the same people and ask for their help later?

Maybe because business is business and now they can just outsource for their services, without the hassle of paying benefits. Straight contract work!A bit cynical perhaps, but in today's workplace, anything is possible.

its called variablizing costs ... basically transitioning fixed costs to variable costs

I don't think the developer of fsx are involved...maybe that's the reason why it is called "microsoft flight" instead of flight simulator XI. :(

There’s been some indication the new MSG team is made up substantially of former Aces employees. It leads me to think one of the motivations for closing Aces concerned optimizing the structure of the games division. Maybe the overhead is much less now, and maybe the reins of power are much shorter now too. It’ll be very interesting to see the results. So far the official material looks very promising.

I thought in the hayday they were up to 200 people, I doub't it's anywhere close to that number now, so you're right they could be very profitabble with lower overhead. Also I think there's a huge benefit being apart of the profitable Windows group.

I don't know why, but i think the suppresion of "simulator" is a clue of where is heading Microsoft with this new release, focusing in a bigger market (at least, bigger than the simulation market).I hope this won't happen , it's just a hunch :( CheersIgnacio :(
