I watch this and a few other forums and I have to say, I don't ever remember a time when so many people complained about so many things, most of which are a result of THEM not doing their own research. I have dozens of addons installed and each and every one of them has some small thing wrong with it, but DARN, there is so much right it's a waste of time to spend my time complaining when I could be flying! Developers provide info on their websites, forums with user feedback, manuals, email support, etc, yet it seems that public whinning is now the norm. Maybe I'm just getting older and noticing it more, or maybe it's the 'me generation' just becomming more prolific.Is it just me or does anyone else notice this lately?

Four years ago last week (Oct 11, 2006) I started making screenshots of FSX DEMO...People are still joining AVSIM and beginning to post about FSX that they JUST purchased and installed and now they have questions - just like we did.Learning to use forum search tools before you even know the accepted terminology is a bit daunting. What surprises me is how people can even think of messing around with sim files and not have even looked through the all folders of the install - "Where are the planes; there's no "Aircraft" folder?". And some people are so used to ICONS on their screen that "detail view" is a great Mystery. They too want to have fun, so we help anyway and they will learn.As my interest in FreeFalcon grows, I will be constantly reminded to be as gentle to new FSX folks as I hope the FF forum folks are with a noobie me - at least FSX aircraft don't explode if you scrape the tailpipe on landing.Loyd

I'd say the crap economy plays a big part.A lot of people are out of work and the cost:quality ratio is very important.Maybe we're hoping for too much for something that costs a little? So we complain if every little detail is not correct.

Whatever complaining it is you describe is nothing to what was around a few years back. Some of the compaining is valid and some is not and I quite frankly want to be able to read the good and bad about a product if I am going to spend hard earned money on it. What I have a big complaint with is when a developer offers no support for a product nor any attempt to suport the product. For them I say too bad as there are others that offer far better quality/support. So part of me agrees with you and part of me does not. Just wait till the new "FLIGHT" hits the market and Im sure this forum will be flooded again with 1000's of compaints.

Personally I get annoyed when I have to be a beta tester who paid for the product rather than just buy and enjoy without running into annoying bugs.

Actually, all the whining and complaining has helped me many times of problems popping up from time-to-time of cures I had already solved so long ago but forgot. My FSX is not anything like the FSX I installed when (before actually) it was officially released. I have tweaked, modified, installed and reinstalled so many time, I have forgotten - and still today, maybe just one more new tweak. FSX is not a program - it is a career. I have even considered uninstalling FSX and just running all the addons I have for it.Cheers

Funny that you should post this because I was just thinking the same thing the other day. It's too bad that what could be constructive critism or discussion often ends up in bashing, whinning, and complaining. Frankly when I read some of the complaints about a scenery missing a building, or a taxiway that was not added, wing flex missing in an a/c, etc., and people go on a full rant about it, it leaves me wondering if the person complaining is like that all the time about everything. I mean for the price we pay for FSX and the addons, I think that its a bargin compared to the price of real life flying. I think that a lot of users expectations are way to high for a computer based simulation. I think the best thing to do before you buy a new product is to research it and wait a while to see what others are saying and what problems there might be. Of if your lucky enough to buy from a dev that offers a refund then you can get your money back.As far as the "me generation' or the "X generation" I agree that the younger generation, 25 and below, are largly lacking in manners and politeness. I believe a lot of it comes down to parents letting the kids run free cause they are either too busy to mind them, don't care what they do, or are afraid that it they do punish them the kids will call CPS and get them arrested for child abuse. It was a lot different in my day, even though I am only in my 30's, when I did wrong my parents would spank my butt so hard that it would cross my mind before I acted up again, or I would get sent to my room which at the time had no cell phone, no PC, or any of the other fun items that todays kids have. These days it seems like some parents are almost scared of their kids and don't disapplin them at all. Too bad because I can only imagine how society will be in the next 10 to 20 years.Could also be because of the economy like someone else mentioned. There's lots of people that got themselves in pickles buying homes they really couldn't afford and lost them, many people out of work, bad economic conditions for some people which probably adds to thier daily stress and manifests itself in the forum of complains and whinning in internet forums and chat areas.

LMAO, I can't believe that there are prople already complain about a product that hasn't even been repleased yet, or saying that it's not going to be any good or an arcade game. We hardly even know anything about it yet to start making those types of complaints.
