October 26, 201015 yr I would like to fly the 727 as a cargo plane.Which one? Flight1 or Captain Sim? I'm looking for smooth! Ciao!

October 26, 201015 yr Only 1 for FSX at the moment, Captain Sim. It's a pretty good rendition of one. Nothing like the Dreamfleet masterpiece for FS9 though
October 26, 201015 yr Moderator Yeah the CaptSim version is pretty good and if you can wait until December I think it is when the have the big sale, you can get it for around $15.00 USD. Like Flavio said, I think the CaptSim version is currently the only 727 for FSX. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
October 26, 201015 yr If you want a free one that's pretty decent (though not as complex), try the ones from Historic Jetliner's Group - http://simviation.com/hjg/ - they don't have a VC, though, or an APU or a complete flight engineer's panel....still fun, though. (And yes, I do wish that Flight1 & Dreamfleet would release a native version for FSX!) Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
October 26, 201015 yr Author oh! I thought the F1 was a FSX convert.ok, I think I can wait until december, and then get the CS one. Ciao!
October 27, 201015 yr oh! I thought the F1 was a FSX convert.ok, I think I can wait until december, and then get the CS one.Actually Capt Sim has three versions of the 727 for fsx All excellent version with excellent textures in the VC. Read up on them so when the 24 hour sale hits around mid December (guess) you will be ready. -100-200-Freighter When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

When they had the sale last time I bought just the base pack in the morning to test it out, then since I liked it and the price was right I went ahead and bought the -200 and -F as well later in the day before the sale expired. Pretty good deals they offer during the sales. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
October 27, 201015 yr I also have the CS FSX version (all three variants), and it's really good. I got it last December during their 9.99 Euro sale....great deal! It has some bugs, but overall it's an excellent plane....I hope they will update it in a future service pack to bring it up to their FSX 707 standards, or beyond. October 27, 201015 yr The CS is good. CS does manage to do Steam gauges quite well. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
October 29, 201015 yr There is another freeware 727 at flightsim.com that is excellent. It does have a VC, and comes with 727 sound, which is cool, but I liked the sound packages from the HJG site better, so I use them. It comes in 4 liveries, and is really fun to fly. October 30, 201015 yr I have the Captain sim 727-100 for FSX.:( Kenneth M."PUP"Craddock IIPC: Alienware Aurora R4 Intel I7-3820.....As for the rest is classified http://pup4ordfsxmore.blogspot.com/
October 30, 201015 yr Any idea how realistic the FDE is?No idea really. I do know that it is quite a bit more challenging to fly than any of the default jetliners that come with FSX. Fun. With a sound pack from HJG, I feel pretty immersed when I fly it. One quirk it has is the autothrottle setting is not switchable from the panel or keyboard--you have to use the IAS button on the panel or CTRL-R to toggle IAS hold. Not a big issue for me, you just have to remember that SHIFT-R will not do anything. David Norman Paul

He has made wonderful aircraft for FSX recently, though I haven't heard anything of his presence since the release of his Convair 240. I once had his other 727, of which was the last release, which had 87% custom gauges. I originally planned to use the CIVA INS on it but then I realized that I never actually flew aircraft with this comprehensive utility that deserves its place in a 727 :(. However it flew like a dream, somehow feeling that it had the kick from the Dreamfleet model. I removed it after realizing that the HJG 727 flew and operated better. At that time, I looked for an aircraft which had better and proper simulation of the 727's sophisticated (at that time) avionics, after realizing how basic Alejandro's 727 was. Originally, I intended to modify the aircraft to include iSG gauges for better navigation, but FS Panel Studio messed up everything with the cockpit's gauges, which stated that some of the gauges didn't have bitmaps and even considered some others invalid, which caused missing gauges on the panel. :(:Cry:I also looked at the autothrottle problem. Again, this is why I removed his 727. I simply didn't have the sufficient knowledge to fix this. I also looked at the effectiveness of each autothrottle and I found out that the HJG 727 has far more intuitive A/T simulation.
