4th Promo Video !

It's too early. ........ sadly, it is not early enough to have seen that Flight won't be a simulation but an arcade game instead, that's different..I am deeply disappointed about that, being myself an hardcore simmer.
Emmeth, I liked your video. I can appreciate the humour. But I also hope you'll be the first in line to admit you were wrong, in the also very plausible case that Flight is going to be a great simulator. I can't see anything in the official videos that supports your statement about Flight being merely arcade.

Cheers, Bert

+1! Looking at the FAQ page, they don't seem to want to lose the hardcore simmers:"The new “Microsoft Flight” retains the full fidelity simulation longtime fans have come to expect while offering all players a whole new look and feel, a wide range of new game play and challenges, persistent experiences and social connectivity."

Both FS9 and FSX would provide that.

Gerry Howard

True, but it seems that Flight will also offer an extremely easy to fly option. Just add throttle and the plane will take off, this is so fun!!On the other hand those of us that are into the simulation aspect of flying might find that FSX and FS9 are all that will be required, time will tell (because the information release by Microsoft sure doesn't).Regards, Mike Mann

I thought we'd at least have another video for Thanksgiving. Maybe it'll be a really good one this time too :-)

I get the feeling that we will be pleasantly surprised, FLIGHT has a legacy to uphold.I will hold off buying it unless there are vast changes made to the game engine but I will eventually migrate over to it once 3PD's sink their teeth into it and start releasing product.

Sometimes we joke, sometimes we have serious discussions, that's a a forum.
As far as pranks go...a rick roll...meh...you could have done better. :(

How can an enthusiast hold off making a 49.99$ USD purchase for his hobby? .. come on its a small price to check out the next iteration of the franchise. :(

The true cost also involves the time and effort you have to expend on it to achieve a satisfying experience. Usually I find this occurs after a service pack or two.Regards, Mike Mann

Trust me, I will be more than happy to admit I am wrong but in this moment I can't because also you can't state it will be a simulation. We are on the same boat and both of us can't proof his own feelings. We only have those videos to speak on and honestly I didn't see a single tiny ounce of simulation over there. Just a colored biplane and nothing more. I was dreaming about huge check lists to fill.......I have a yellow submarine instead.Anyway of course, if a simulation will be released I will be the first one to publicly apologize admitting I was wrong.

Hi,You joined AVSIM in May of 2010, guess your not familiar with Microsoft's tactics and past practice when it comes to Flight Simulation.

I HIGHLY doubt that they would edit something in that would not be there in the release.

[sarcasm]Thanks for sharing my registration date. I could have never figured it out without your help![/sarcasm]I only registered on avsim this year, but I've been around other flight sim forums longer than that. Don't underestimate my knowledge.

This happens with all 3D games - not just MSFS. :( The reason is simple, the PR campaign begins before the game is finished.Games don’t show well until they're done.So marketing material needs to be generated. (particularly before alpha)Often this work is contracted to third parties not even involved in production (or even in the company). If it's an unnecessary tactic, consider the blowback from Flight’s pre beta in-game footage. :smile:Also the so-called 'tree shadows' are very likely just a visual artifact of a shadow system that’s in medias res.

Oh I agree, I remember the barren wasteland that was when the release of FSX was supposed to change everything... see below, I tend to share my sentients with Mike.
