AirSimmer A320 Warning

Featured Replies

AirSimmer is just one of the many firms that have gone out of business in the current rececession. It's not the first and it won't be the last. Why the near hysteria in this thread?

Because of the arrogance displayed towards those who were supporting them.

I sent a message few days ago to Vasiliy Kondratiev - senior developer, and I got an interesting response. I asked are you still committed to this project, and his reply was "The project is live. We work over the big updating."I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. What they have done far is amazing, and if it is true, then this bird will be the one.

mgh, Hysteria is too strong a word,I think. Maybe the reason that the Airsimmer bus draws this kind of response is that for once this Airbus had some potential. There just isn't a really good Airbus right now in either platform. I have the opportunity to be in an Airbus cockpit occasionally because of my job and I can tell you that they did a very nice job of capturing that experience.I guess it's as much about lost potential as it is about lost money. I'm beginning to think that the FS platform just isn't designed for a really good A320 et al.

AWF, that is what I don't understand either. He freely communicates with Russians but ignores his customers requests. Ryan Briggs (Customer Support) doesen't answer any questions and as he was the only communication link with Zoya and Vasilius, (he told me on Skype that he is in regular contact with them) ignores queries from people asking for support? If he doesn't like what you say, he bans you like he did for me twice (so far, expecting another hehe). That was after I offered assistance to him regaining employment on Skype but then he stabbed me in the back over correcting some one's spelling. Not something that was in the forum's rules! Before then, I used to support him and took his side even though the complaints seemed to be deserved. I did believe in Airsimmer as their product was awesome and so nice to fly. You felt as though you had the best sim ever. Then the bugs appeared and with the ET team taking time to report them no one but no one came onto the forum to thank them for their efforts on behalf of Airsimmer. I thought that was really a bad attitude. After Zoya made the video saying that the sim was nearly finished, the code for the autopilot was changed and the whole thing had to be restarted from scratch again. Now at this time it would have been nice of the Devs to disclose this info but, as running true to form, they didn't.From then on, disappointment and frustration continued to gain momentum in their forum.Ryan Briggs didn't know how to handle it (because of his inexperience) and things became progressivly worse. All sorts of questions bombarded the forum asking for information and then suddenly, a new Basic version appeared to gain money for the development. This model also had bugs and two updates appeared to keep the customers for the Basic happy. All this time the Advanced version was ignored including their customers queries.People have knocked Ariane (at least they finished theirs) in the past, but they are Saints in comparison with Airsimmer.

Have all those posters who are compaining paid for an add-on and not got it? If not whose lost money? As far as quality goes, AirSimmer made it perfectly clear that it was releasing a buggy product. Those who bought it were well awarte of that fact so if they chose to go ahead and by they have no reason for complaint.

mgh, Yeah, I guess everyone knew it was a buggy product. That being said, there was also the promise of a fix, which has not appeared as of yet.Part of the problem is that the customer support is being done by a guy who doesn't even work for Airsimmer. He's just a customer. Hell, Vasilius said on the Russian site,"Don't ask me any questions.Go find the answers for yourself." Great customer service.

Yes, but to wait for a whole year is taking the p*** dont you think? And to go on the "support forum" and ask honest questions in the most polite manner and be totally ignored is not really fair is it? Buggy or not it doesnt really excuse the fact they ignore the people who pay there wages and after waiting over a year i think it does give reason for complaint, anger, and frustration towards them.

I hate to say I told you so but I will!

IAslo, am not a sanguine as you that Airsimmer will develop a fix for the basic model or release the advanced one. The most realistic interpretation of the situation is that AirSimmer has (or is) running out of cash to finish this add-on and that in the effect of the economic crisis their backers/bankers won't let them have any more. If the sales of the basic version don't provide enough cash then AirSimmer could go belly-up with no fix and no advanced model.
[Emphasis added]Those who bought took a gamble which failed. It's their own fault.

mgh, It certainly is in this case since there was a 30 day money back guarantee through Flight1. I think anytime you buy software from a new developer you're rolling the dice.As I stated in a previous post, I'm most disappointed in the fact of the unrealized potential of this aircraft. This isn't the first time I've purchased Flight Sim software that wasn't worth the money, I'm sure it won't be the last.

People paid for their product, (no where on the product page does it say it is "buggy" nor does it say "prone to CTD and may not be usable") Airsimmer Basic product page: http://www.airsimmer.com/products.htmMany customers did not request a refund I assume to support them while they worked on the fixes needed. Keeping faith that they would fix things as promised. Airsimmer has up until now at least broke a promise and have failed to keep their customers up to date on the progress (if any) of their product. Only to be subject to rumors and accusations that they are not helping squash by remaining silent..
