February 27, 201115 yr Commercial Member Just got to page 261 of the 653 page DCS A-10 Flight Manual, I'm speechless! this thing is beyond awesome. I can imagine myself 3 years down the line and still learning something new. The CDU functions and menu's make airline flying and FMGS entry's look like childs play. I'm amazed it's a single seater aircraft, such a huge amount going on in the cockpit, you really need someone else doing the head down stuff, of course I'm a complete newbie to this stuff and the real pro's out there have no trouble flying solo. I can't even think about trying any combat with this aircraft yet, so much to learn. Absolutely amazing, don't think I've been this happy since I first discovered the PMDG 744 :( Rob Prest
February 27, 201115 yr I just got the DCS A-10. The 600+ page flight manual is PMDG level! Best combat sim, I've flown in a LONGGG time.I'd highly recommend it. $60 is a bit but well worth it. Price will drop in a few months. They are just capturing the hardcore sim fans now.CheersBB BillyBob David M. February 27, 201115 yr Have to agree, DCS: A-10C is by far the best combat sim available now bar none. The performance of the release version is so much better than the previous betas. Those guys did a great job there. Once you have mastered the systems, multiplayer is where the fun begins. Having your mate buddy lase a target for you and you moving in to attack using your target pod is nothing short of combat sim nirvana :( Not to mention donwloading data and receiving target coordinates from a forward controller, be it on the ground or in the air (a predator for example).Superb! Ed Haslam
February 27, 201115 yr +1 for DCS A-10 IMHO Even if you are not interested in combat aircraft, this thing exceeds anything available for FSX in everyway for 55 bucks. Not to mention it comes with clouds, airports, AI that looks better then any AI in FSX, and the performance is much better. My FPS dips down into the 40s around a lot of action with max settings at 1920x1200, very smooth. No tweaking, just flying.Willy Brown
February 27, 201115 yr + 1 for DCS, Blackshark is still tops for me. Waiting on A-10 to arrive on Steam,
February 27, 201115 yr Commercial Member + 1 for DCS, Blackshark is still tops for me. Waiting on A-10 to arrive on Steam, btw has anyone tested the stall characteristics? Apparently they have even simulated a potential flame out in a stall due to airflow disturbance from the stalled wing. It's amazing when you think about what DCS & PMDG will be able to achieve in 5 years from now Rob Prest

It's hard to get a complete flame out from compressor stalls by yanking the stick back, but it's possible! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 28, 201115 yr I really wish the DCS world was larger. Also the environments never impressed me. Can we get some Rex for DCS?
February 28, 201115 yr +1 for DCS series (both Ka-50 and A-10C).And, follow Robin Goodchild's advise: it's very valid ;)Cheers,Lukas Mathijsen Lukas "TIN TIN -=9th Shrek=-" Mathijsen

March 1, 201115 yr Anyone else notice the amazingly hilarious Samuel L. Jackson joke in the Guns & Rockets training mission haha? So great!LOL, I just finished that training mission 5 minutes ago. The funniest part is the trainers voice does sort of resemble Samuel Jackson and now I can't get it out of my head that it's actually him showing me how to fly a Warthog.DCS A10 is sooo polished and perfect for a sim fan. And so far, they really seemed to have broken the adage that great sims also can't have great performance. It runs flawless on my i7 920/GTX 480 setup. Dave Creed
