Just posted on SOH, now here.Japan hit by 8.9 quake less than an hour ago!Are you guys watching the footage on CNN?! This is incredibly scary stuff. It is nothing but tremors and tsunami's now. Harbors are completely flooded and airports are all but buried.TURN ON CNN.

Don't have to turn CNN on, I just went thru it. Being from the East Coast never been thru a Earthquake and OMG that was wild. I was running back and forth making sure my big screen didn't topple and making sure my cockpit setup didn't topple. Note to self move both items closer.

Just skimmed by it on BBC online, the news here is so full of ** that you'll never see anything remotely relevant to the stuff they proclaim to present.This being said, what's going on with the unusually high earthquake frequency these days?

I don't know, but this one started at 1445L and its now 1730L and it's still rocking/rolling. I'm suppose to fly out of here tomorrow.

RJAA is closed , planes diverted to Yokota Air Force base. 6 hours later we are still rockin/rollin over 50+ after shocks.

You guys in the affected areas take care of yourselves. The aftershocks can be almost as bad as the initial earthquake itself.

I hope all of you affected have made it through the night with little injury. I'm also hoping waters begin to recede a bit today and clean up efforts can begin. Earthquakes are never good, but at least it happened to a nation of people and infrastructure designed to withstand limited earthquakes. It sure could have been much, much worse.
