:( I guess you miss significance of this find and/or you had missed what was happening before. Whatever wreckage they found before was floating on the surface. Never before have they found any trace of the aircraft in the bottom of the Ocean. The fact that now they found some pieces indicates they found the general area where the rest of the pieces should be. Instead of searching perhaps 10,000 sq.km now they may be down to 10 or 100. It is a huge step forward.

Although I'm subscribed to this forum, I was never notified this thread was created. Maybe others were also mis-notified and that would explain the low view count.I'm pretty confident the black boxes will be found.Cheers,- jahman.

The black boxes appear to have been found. One is complete - only the casing/chassis of the other apparantly.http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-13255673It is a remarkable success to have found them at all, considering the aera and depth of the Atlantic that had to be searched.

Hopefully the integrity of the data is good. Either way it is a remarkable effort from the search teams involved.Al

This is wonderful news! And nay sayers claim that the "black box" would never be found.

From the few pictures that have been released so far it would appear that the impact force was enormous. Indicating a very high speed impact. Let's hope that there is still some information recoverable from the black box.vololiberista

The voice recorder has now been recovered as well. Hopefully they can start to piece this one together.It is a simular task to South African Airlines flight 295 that sat on the bottom of the Indian Ocean for two years before they found that Voice Recorder. They got some information from that one. This one is better equipment then what was on the 747 back in the 80's so hopefully they will get something out of it.Cheers
