That's why I was asking, so we could get a short answer, "It didn't happen because of some minor problems we needed solved," or something of that nature, so that we at least know to wait another day...

Wait another day for what? The world is going to be the same whether the wide beta started or not. I am not sure why it is so important that customers need to know when this happens. Life is going to be the same either way unless someone says: "Well, we're one step closer to release once in wide beta, so the release date must be closer."

I'm with you. I'm good 'til about 6 p.m. too. But I can pick up the hunger strike after supper, at least until evening snack around 10 p.m. After that I can probably go 8 hours to breakfast.

Look at it this way - no news is good news, as they are obviously hard at work trying to get the NGX closer to release. If they stopped to answer every single query about why they didn't meet a tentative deadline, they'd never get any work done.
