July 22, 201114 yr I prepaid and have been flying with it for about a week now.I just checked at FSS and it's still says "Prepay": Can you already download the scenery after you purchase?Cheers,- jahman.
July 23, 201114 yr Commercial Member You may be looking at the DVD version at FSS; just select the download edition and you can grab it then fly it immediately after installing. The DVD version is scheduled for release on August 1st. Cheers, John Venema
July 23, 201114 yr "IMHO this is OrbX's best work yet"Better than the Australia scenery? I doubt it.ORBX did Australia first, and it is absolutely stunning, but just like most things in life the more you do something the better you get.I think the teams that ORBX employs to make this scenery get better with every release - they learn more "tricks of the trade" and discover new techniques - and many of them say as much quite often on the ORBX forums. Quad Core Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4 GHz, 1 GB nVidia GTX 275, 8GB DDR3 PC3-10600 MB/sec RAM, 300GB 10,000 RPM HD
July 23, 201114 yr Everyone wants the Orbx team to release their area next. The disadvantage of having an area done first is that it doesn't take full advantage of the new tricks that the team learns as time goes on; practice does make perfect. One plus is that once Orbx releases an area they don't turn their backs on it but continue to make improvements; Orbx PNW is shortly going to receive a PNW.004 patch.Regards, Mike Mann Mike Mann

The DVD version is scheduled for release on August 1st.Yikes, you're right, I was looking at the DVD version.Yikes again, the download version (AUD 40.95) is 5% more expensive than the DVD version wihout the prepay discount (AUD 38.95)! That's unusual...Cheers,- jahman.

AUS is up to SP4. To me this means that FTX has worked hard for a long time to improve their original version of AUS. All updates were/are free of charge.I also love their PNW sceneries, but I always seem to gravitate to AUS. That's just a personal preference. All the FTX sceneries, IMO, are magnificent! MSFS

All the FTX sceneries, IMO, are magnificent!I see that you are from Weeki Wachee, Florida. FTX Australia looks a great deal more like where you live than FTX PNW; minus the mermaids of course! :biggrin:Regards, Mike Mann Mike Mann
August 1, 201114 yr Many of us were disappointed about the lack of sloped runways in FSX. CRM has added numerous sloped runways at minor airstrips that do not have to support AI. And not just constant slopes, but conforming to the actual contour of the terrain. Some even have doglegs that closely match the real layout. And no more humongous aprons that stand out like beacons. Many of the fields are hard to spot even right on top using a moving map display. This adds a whole new dimension of realism to those of us who enjoy bush flying. John
August 1, 201114 yr It is Amazing,FTX Orbx has really changed the way I fly.I very rarely fly anything Bigger than a GA Twin,And it's even more rare that I fly above 6000' preferring to stay low and enjoy the incredible views. 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
August 1, 201114 yr Can someone indicate where some of the sloping runways are on the CRM sceneryRon Ron Service .
August 2, 201114 yr Can someone indicate where some of the sloping runways are on the CRM sceneryRonMile-Hi (I97D), Soldier Bar (85U), may be others too
August 2, 201114 yr Can someone indicate where some of the sloping runways are on the CRM sceneryRon Even some of the larger backcountry fields like Johnson Creek (3U2) and Big Creek (U60) have substantial slope variations. Great fun with the DC-3. John
