August 5, 201114 yr RSR said there is an "external" problem with the servers, primarily from China. I just want to be certain that there is no risk of credit card theft with the purchase of the NGX. Thanks!Todd Fleck Todd Fleck
August 5, 201114 yr Your quick to judge, maybe the Chinese want something real for once. lol Kevin Singeo
August 5, 201114 yr It's more like a DDOS, which isn't related to identity theft, but I won't fault anyone for being overly cautious. Robert S. Paul
August 5, 201114 yr Commercial Member No more than with any other system. The connection is secured with SSL, so as long as the server does not store CC data (with exception to its RAM for processing purposes) then all should be fine.CC data theft is much over-hyped. It is the result of companies storing CC data unencrypted that is the problem. Properly secured (and it is rare to find a correct implementation) CC data is safe. If proper crypto algorithms are used and implemented properly (hard to do correctly), it is very secure indeed. Sadly very very very few web devs/server techs know what they're doing in this regard, hence the massive data breaches we keep reading about in the news.Best regards,Robin.

I just wanted to be sure as to whether or not I should cancel my card and get a new one. Just a minor inconvenience, better than getting my account wiped. Todd Fleck
August 5, 201114 yr Commercial Member There is no threat of this guys - we're under a DDoS attack and they're flooding our servers with an insane number of connection attempts per second to slow the site down and knock it offline. I'm interested to know what countermeasures are put in place to ward off the attack - not that I'd probably understand, but interested anyway. David Porrett

That just sucks Ryan. Sorry you guys are have to deal with a deliberate attack on what should be a great day for you and your team. What is the point of such a childish attack!?!?!?! August 5, 201114 yr Commercial Member You can't - the point of a DDoS is that it saturates bandwidth making it inaccessible. It doesn't really matter what the data being sent to the server is, so long as it is sufficient to flood the connection and deny access by legitimate hosts. The only fix is to disconnect or block the connections from further up-stream where there is sufficient bandwidth to cope (usually at the 'backbone' or 'peer' level where the major inter-connects are between networks).Might as well disappear for the night - this is going to take a while to resolve.Best regards,Robin.
August 5, 201114 yr Commercial Member There's firewalls and stuff but they can only do so much when it comes from such a wide range of IPs. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
