You Have Failed To Deliver

Featured Replies

It is around 10:40 PM Pacific Time. I paid for the product 3 hours ago and have nothing to show for it. It is too late for me to stay up and fly. You should have anticipated server problems and done more to protect yourselves from hacking. Your remarks blaming China are offensive and in very poor taste. I hope that when I wake up in the morning I will be able to download my plane. Big disappointment! Ed

This cannot be prevented easily, and I would like to see how your sever would have held up any differently if you ran it. Trust me, PMDG is doing everything they can to solve this ASAP and get us our planes!

It did not work this time.

Sadly Ed all your post does is show that you have no concept of what a DDoS is or how it works.

Best Regards,

Dan Parkin.

This post by you just shows what kind of immature, impatient man (boy?) you are.. resorting to throwing a childish tantrum and insulting PMDG because someone decided to hack the server?

My Lord Ed, hang in there dude! If you want PMDG to have a warehouse of redundant servers and everything else be prepared to pay double! System overload is all that's going on and you have to expect that considering the circumstances. Be happy it's getting triple rave reviews already, have stiff drink and try to go to sleep! I can't wait myself either! Noel

PMDG didn't even get hacked, it was simply a DDoS attack. You have no idea how difficult it is to prevent these.

Ed, I'm really sorry you're upset and it's your choice if you choose not to believe us about the attacks but what we've said is absolutely true. We did anticipate huge demand and we spent a small fortune on server upgrades and such prior to this release. The problems are in no way being caused by the number of customers on the site. Our servers are being hit over a million times per minute by these attacks - please read here about how these attacks work. There is no truly good defense against this, it's a fundamental issue with the internet and malware botnets - DDoS attacks have taken down huge sites like CNN.com and Yahoo before. http://en.wikipedia....-service_attack

Things don't always work out as planed. You weren't the only one that had an issue as you described. I was in the same boat; but knew that the issues were being frantically taken care of. Here I am @ 1 am my time only a couple hours from the time i get up - playing. all in part to finally getting things downloaded and installed an hour ago. You will not be dissappoint by no means, and this team did more than deliver. Have faith - they will get to you.

Actually, their comment regarding China (a country whose government that has been systematically and illegally hacking (read as: government-sponsored industrial espionage) in an unprecedented scale for the better part of a decade) was pithy. Only someone lacking a sense of humor, or worse, an apologist for the brutal regime in Beijing would be "offended" by it. That said, it was VERY unprofessional for a representative of a fairly major game-addon manufacturer to write something like that in a public forum. His or her manager needs to reprehend them and explain why there is no upside to such comments and a great deal of downside. Plus, a mea culpa is much better when you can't deliver to paying customers after stringing them along for so long. What a shame. Looks like an okay plane. ;)

I have been very patient. I am merely complaining about a customer service failure. I bet you have your NGX. If I had mine I would not be on this forum complaining. It's that simple. PMDG is a good company. They just did not handle this right for me. I waited from a reply from the ticket system and did not receive one. Ed

Please explain how they should have handled a DoS attack?

Shane Gavin

Mate, im a person in an cafe on the outskirts of Brissy, Australia downloading the ngx using mobile usb internet at a torturous speed of 40kbps, on a laptop. Point of this story... go and complain to your reflection in the mirror. Ashley Frew.
