Of course now that I'm trying to show you, everything works great....ugh! Only snag was that engaging the A/P took some effort - more specifically I had to push the button CMD A multiple times to get it to turn on. Am I supposed to wait 400ft agl like in the tutorial? Perhaps it had something to do with landing, reloading the scenery (not the acft)? perfinit1.jpgn1limit-1.jpgtakeoff-1.jpglegs-1.jpgreadytogo.jpgrolling.jpgclimb3.jpg

Yeah I know lol... it's murphy's law... it's working because I'm giving you screenshots! In fact I just did another flight and the VNAV armed etc... the initial climb was a little wonky (as in climbed high rate, slow speed) but then stabilized quickly (10 secs or so). Looks like I got the basics down. Do I dare try a cold n dark? HAha!

How are you getting the VNAV to arm on the ground? I was only able to do this in the tutorial. I must be missing something here.

Do you have realistic autopilot engagement enabled by chance? Also, as mentioned, there is a slight delay when engaging A/P, which is normal.

Both pilot and first officers flight directors must be on to arm VNAV

Referring to the last pic !! I would tuurn the autobrakes to off and put the landing gear lever in the middle position. That way it is no longer using the hydraulic system. Just a few tips that you might find useful. Fred.

How was that uncalled for? If you think "sucker" was uncalled for, you must realize that the word "sucker" in his sentence was referring to the plane. Not to the thread starter. This is why it helps to read thoughts that are posted online, in different tones in your mind. Can't tell you how many times I've thought "he said what?!" only to realize I read it in the wrong "tone" of voice.

I pressed the exe on cdu and waited five minutes to retry. Still won't arm. All my performance data has been entered and my flight track shows in magenta. I will try saving the panel state and reloading - someone said this cleared it up. Sounds like a glitch.

I just tried taking off with only the LNAV armed and hit TOGA when I got to 40% N1. It did engage but my PFD speedtape says NO VSPD in yellow. I did left click the VREF speeds in the CDU so they were originally on the speedtape. Now I can't engage LNAV or VNAV.

Ok so I just started en entirely new flight from scratch and went through the same steps and VNAV armed on the ground just fine. There must be something that caused this. I don't think it was the Captain's fault lol! Unfortunately before I could reach TC it froze up on me and crashed for the first time.
