August 16, 201114 yr I tried loading a saved flight yesterday, and every time without fail, CTD, will try again today but don't think I'll be able to. Or am I the only flight simmer who saves flights? The event log linked the CTD to a 737 .dll, can't remember which one, but I did post it in an earlier post someplace. Patrick Boynton

Patrick BoyntonNo, you are not the only one who saves flights. I too do the same via FSUPIC. Did not have CTDs but the aircraft was dropping out of the skies like dead lead as everything on each and every one of the saved flights had been turned off, i.e. engines, panel, etc. all error-linked to a 737NGX_.dll error Rick Almeida

Patrick Boynton I've got many erros trying to load NGX flights. Once, I did set one particular flight to be the default one. Every time I tried to start FSX it just crashed. I had to delete the flight first for the game to start. Thus, you aare not alone on this issue.
August 16, 201114 yr I have saved my NGX set up on the runway at the start of the tuorial with everthing set ready to just take off and it works every time for my take off & climb practice. However i saved this flight at mid descent so that i can practice approaches, load it up and it promptly crashes. Have another saved at KSFO where i am using FlightBeam add on because it is system demanding, which i used for initially setting up the NGX & FSX when i first purchased NGX. So it seems so far that on the ground saves work. Haven't tried anymore in flight saves so maybe i will try again to see if that is significant. Rick Hobbs
August 16, 201114 yr Have you tried installing the hotfix? That alone cured the issue for me, as I and many others were saying there was a specific crash tied to the 737dll when a saved flight involved an approach or landing type scenario. The saved flight process is wonderful for ground situations (like takeoff practice), but you have to be careful when in the air. As the panel initializes, auto throttle is lost (or the connection to your hardware throttle is gone), and invariably you will find yourself in a steep climb or descent because of the loss or sudden surge of thrust. I hope PMDG can fix it so that the flight returns to the stable state it was at when it was saved, like most other addon aircraft with saved flights. That being said, I find the NGX being the best implementation of saved panel/flight state of all addons. I find that EVERY switch and system is set to where it was when it was first saved. But there are a few bugs I have found that you may want to be aware of, but I have forwarded these concerns to PMDG in a ticket and they are investigating: 1. The flaps setting is not recorded.2. On a Honeywell MCP with Autoland Fail Passive and the analog backup altimeter, "NO LAND 3" is enunciated in Amber on the EICAS. One final note, I found that sometimes in a saved flight in cruise or descent, the FMC loses altitude, fuel, and ETA predictions. There will be a warning in the FMC saving "VNAV DISCONNECT", and therefore, VNAV cannot be recovered. See trip altitude in screenshot below, perhaps this is a clue? A.J. Domingo
August 16, 201114 yr This is totally off topic, but the words "ACT" in the screenshot above was added by PMDG after taking note of my suggestion! (I told them to add the words ACT after activating and executing since the real FMCs I've used all do that. If you don't believe me, look at Nick's takeoff video, the one that's an hour long. The FMC Perf Init is activated, but no ACT.) WOW! Makes me kind of proud inside! Sorry. Off topic. lol. Back to your question. Henry C.(Made by MM7)
August 16, 201114 yr I did a long flight split in 3 legs over the weekend from Seattle to Christchurch, New Zealand with the NGX no problems saving and loading my flight. It did drop a couple of thousand feet but once it initializes it will get back up to it's altitude and it's fine. Ian Paxton The lights are dimming on FSX and only getting brighter for XPX.
August 16, 201114 yr I had this problem with crashing to desktop with a fatal error every time with all aircraft after following NickN's advice to add the line Disable preload=1 to the FSX.cfg to prevent preloading of default flights. Once I got rid of that, all saved flights started to load just fine and that includes the many times I have had to do this with the NGX due to panel failures of one kind or another. I particularily had this problem if trying to load in any and all saved flights that had an flightplan in the FSX flight planner saved as part of the file, such as you might have with freeware aircraft with no FMC or a certain brand of Airbus that requires exporting the FMC flight plan to the FSX flight planner for a successful flight save. Maybe this could be an issue for you. i7 3770K HT, 8GB RAM, nVidia 980GTX, Win7, P3D 3.4, FSG mesh, UTX, GEX, ST, ASA16/ASCA, NickN optimized
August 16, 201114 yr I use FSUIPC to save my flights every 5 minutes...just in case When I load the saved file, my altitude fluctuates wildly (read: vomit commit), but eventually levels out and everything is fine.... I recommend getting the latest registed version of FSUIPC.
August 16, 201114 yr Maybe they fixed it with the hotfix, but it was a known bug that saved flights on the descent would crash upon loading. I haven't triedloading saved flights since the hotfix. Henri Henri Arsenault
August 16, 201114 yr Commercial Member Several saved flight related bugs were fixed in the hotfixes. If you have the latest hotfix installed and are still getting a crash loading a saved flight, submit a ticket with the 6 pieces of the saved flight attached and we'll look into it. September 6, 201114 yr No more crashes for me after loading saved flights, but I get the "NO LAND 3" EICAS message when I continue a saved flight. Christian Adrigan
September 6, 201114 yr Hi, I also have a problem with loading flights (hotfix installed). If I load a flight, I always have the message "NO AUTOLAND" or something like this. Furthermore, the airplane is out of trim, auto pilot disconnects and the plane is fully out of control. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Any ideas Best regards Markus
