Sorry but this has been covered in alot of forums.Just one of them here:http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2163472Simply search through all known FS forums and You will find more reports of that kind.Maybe there is a reaso that the word "Sim" has been left out of MS' new title ;)FinnJ
That is not a valid reference, that is just somebody on a forum inventing a fact

Yeah..I truely hope that You are right and I´m wrong - let´s see....Take a look on the main MS Flight home page: http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/ and judge Yourself - reading into what they have told until now and what kind of footage are shown.FinnJ

I have followed it since the start. Did you miss the article where they discuss the simulator aspect? They have stated over and over again that it will be every bit as much of a sim as FSX. I rather take their word for it than some 15 year old on an internet forum

Doesn't matter if its every bit as much a simulator as FSX. Why? Because as I posted above everything about flight will be controlled through the Windows Live Service. So that probably means the NGX and most if not all 3rd party apps not approved by MS are out. It also means no flying online with VATSIM anymore. That fact alone makes it dead to me.Xplane 10 is not going to have these limitations and you will be able to use it anywhere online without being anchored to the Windows Live Network.

This is just your assumption. It doesnt have to mean that at all. I'm sure they would like to have a central distribution system for addons tho, I think the majority of simmers would like that, altho perhaps not the hardcore types that visit sites like AVSim. I think the majority of simmers doesnt even know about the addon community and that a central addon store would open their eyes to real simming. When it comes to the online flying aspect you have to remember that FSX was never designed for vatsim. It was simconnect that did all the magic in regards to flying online, with traffic being injected into a single player environment. As long as Flight has something similar to SimConnect I dont see why flying online on VATSIM would require windows live at all.I think that it would be way more healthy if people didnt speculate too much about these things and always look at it from the worst possible angles. Personally I just look at what statements microsoft have made as a basis of my expectations and if the final product turns out to be terrible, then ok, thats the time to be negative about it. There's no reason to be negative about an aspect of this sim without even knowing that this will be how the final product turns out.

I agree with people here who say that's it's a bit early to panic. After all FSX isn't as much simulator itself without it's precious add-ons. So MF maybe will be like FSX - rubish out of the box, great with 120+ addons.

Ms Flight will be an arcade based game, no simulation over there.MS Flight will miss SID and STARS, ATC, Weather Management and Flight Planner. It will be a colored arcade game, period. You will be also able to pilot planes through Kinetic controller, so you can realize how deep is that funny piece of software.........-

Thanks Ken appreciate it, I think flight is probablly going to be great hope its computer friendly not like fsx the computer hog.
I'm afraid that is what everyone is hoping with every edition of MS FS. Never happened.Bert Van Bulck

If MS do sell out the hardcore simmers, you can't blame them considering the reception given to FSX.

anyone?Edit. Actually most of the criticism was justified :)

Our current plans involve several more aircraft for FSX - nothing more, nothing less. We do not feel FSX is yet at the end of its run and we will cross that road when we get to it.That said, the amount of baseless speculation here is pretty absurd - if we at one of the top addon developers don't know anything about what Flight's going to entail, do you guys really think Joe Simmer going on about how it's an Xbox game or has no realism have any idea what they're talking about?

FSX has SIDS and STARS? Not much of the real thing though. No ATC: I hope so because ATC in FSX is absolute crap.Weather management: would be a pitty. No flight planner: we don't need one from MS. There is plenty of better -free- stuff out there.Bert Van Bulck

Yeah, that Windows Live thing is a bummer. I'm not a friend of this Software-as-a-Service stuff. In the end, with such infrastructure in place, they could tighten the screws as they see fit and have you pay for even starting an application. Definitely profitable for the vendor, but a nightmare for any user.

Yeah, right. But then - MS Flight would have to be kind of an open platform, like FSX, with an SDK for all the 3rd party devs that give us all the nice things MS didn't bother to include into FSX in the first place.

Ah well I think I had that coming Ryan. (Joe Simmer here) Raised%20Eyebrow.gif HiyaI can't wait till they release it so I can say........I told ya so!!! Devil.gif
