May 17, 201214 yr I guess could be a little more patient, maybe a little less edgy...but waiting years for a fixpack is a LONG TIME!!! But seriously, CS is equal to PMDG? LevelD? My CS 757 FMC always tells me I don't have enough fuel, but then it changes its mind. It once told me I was going to travel 300nm in only 10 minutes; I planned acordingly, and was LATE! This stuff is way to obvious to be overlooked. I can look past some things, but when its right there in your face, it just ruins the whole experience. PMDG set the example of how to deal with bugs. You know they going to be there when the product is released, so be prepared to address them. Do it right away, and give your paying customers some priority. They support you, you support them. After CS releases a product, it goes to the back of the line. When the bugs show up, you wait for them to cycle through all their new and old projects before you get a fixpack. My opinion is finish the project, then move on. I also fly the CS 757 and 767 as also the PMDG MD-11 and NGX 737. May 17, 201214 yr I'd go for the MD-11 for the moment and wait for the PMDG T7. Got the CS 767, but never fly it, because it's much more a FPS hit than the MD-11, and you can't save a flight without getting errors displayed after loading the flight and also the AP behaves very strange after that. Never had any problems with the MD-11, though. Florian
May 17, 201214 yr Between the epic MD-11 and CS's 767 i'd choose the MD-11 hands down. As far as LD is concerned... meh. CS's latest version (1.5) is overall better. People get the wrong impression with CS's products because they take a few versions to finish them up. If 1.3 was inferior to LD, 1.5 changed the game. The next one will be even better. May 17, 201214 yr Sorry, but I am going to pull a Howard Stern here and say what's on my mind. Sorry if I insult anyone here but to the ones that think CS is in the same level as PMDG you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Like come on. That's just bloody nonsense. Give the old noggin a shake. I have 3 CS addons. Some a few years old and CS STILL hasn't fixed the bugs. Comparing CS to PMDG is like comparing a Ford Fiesta to a Bentley. I would say its like comparing apples to oranges but I wouldn't even put CS in the fruit category. For the ones that keep going on about CS doing a great cabin, etc, just remember this isn't meant to be a flight attendant simulator! CS tries to dazzle you with cabin crap, flushing toilet, a coffee pot so they can take our attention away fom the systems thy forgot to simulate properly. Sorry for being blunt buy I get tired of seeing people trying to convince prospective customers that the sky is purple when it is clearly blue. Hey! Guess what?! They're not in a similar price range, either! Facepalm. I'd be the first to endorse the NGX. I purchased it at the announcement of release, despite the server crash. That being said, the new CS 737 is good. I enjoy it. And at $45, I think I got a bargain. (vs. the $95 I spent on the NGX and it's expansion) ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

Oh wait my mistake...its actually 95.30 with the expansions. (base, cargo, 200adv, 100) Look at that! four models for the same price! Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist

That I mentioned the expansion should be moot. At any rate, look at it how you will. May 17, 201214 yr Why do people always bash CS? For the price point...again, for the price point, Captain Sim's planes are every bit as good as PMDG. Oh and btw does PMDG have a $10 sale every year? Captain Sim is constantly harrassed and PMDG is constantly praised regardless of what they release. It's like a brain disease that has spread among the FS community. I'm glad we have both developers making addons for us to fly. May 17, 201214 yr That SHOULD be Captain Sim's every day price. Yeah... a fully functional FMC and a beautiful VC/exterior is only worth $10? Nah, I don't think so. May 17, 201214 yr Wait until CS have a sale (as they often do) and then you'll get pretty much anything you want from them for less than ten quid. Al If they follow pattern, the next 1 day sale will be sometime around July 4th, but probably not include the 737, being it was recently released. Same thing happened the year the 707 was released Everything was on sale except the 707 Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 17, 201214 yr Yeah, the latest shiny thing is usually excluded from their sales. I'd be the first one to say that CS things have some glitches and could sometimes be improved, after all, I reviewed both their 727 and their 707 for Avsim, so I've spent a lot of time trying to break them LOL. They both came very close to gaining an Avsim Award recommendation from me, it was only really the fact that you have to tweak them a little bit to get them spot on (moreso the 727), and the 707 was literally a gnat's whisker from that recommendation from me since it is a really good stab at a 707. CS aeroplanes are far from the POS which some people suggest they are, and more importantly, CS are getting better with every release, their recent 737 is very very good indeed, and I bet whoever reviews that one for Avsim actually will recommend it for a gong. Frankly, if CS did a bit more work on getting the JT8 simulated a little more realistically, I'd be hard pressed to find much fault with their classic Boeing stuff. Outside of purely making aeroplanes, CS stuff such as their weather radar and weaponry add ons for FSX are excellent as well. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 18, 201214 yr Yeah... a fully functional FMC and a beautiful VC/exterior is only worth $10? Nah, I don't think so. He was referring to Captian Sim. No really I'm just kidding around. CS stuff is not bad, just needs some more polishing and they need to scrap their current strategy. Finish the product before starting a new one. But you're all right, you get what you pay for. CS continues to release new product after new product while leaving us hoping the 777 would be finished. They still haven't patched a few annoying bugs with the 727, and 75/767 have horrible vnav/lnav logic.
