This may seem to be a personal attack, it's not, it's a disappointing observation......I come here because I enjoy flight simulation of all kinds. Does one of them give me everything I want in a simulator, no. It's just something that we all have to accept. They all have certain strengths and weaknesses.What is really getting annoying, frustrating and quite frankly is turning me off coming here, is every post I read that has the slightest bit of negative criticism about any version of XPlane, someone here at Avsim reacts like it is a personal attack against their favorite child.These forums are for open debate, discussion, idea throwing, good or bad, and yes criticism. You can go to any product thread here at Avsim, and see all kinds of argumentative banter going back and forth, but what I don't see is someone or a group of people that takes the bantering as being a personal attack at something they solely own.You don't have the exclusive rights to comment favourably or unfavourably on the merits of a piece of software. As end users we all have the right to come here and express our opinions, good or bad. It's not a personal attack against you, please quit acting like it is.I have been simming for many years, and yes I did purchase XPX as well as XP9, and do own many versions of Microsofts flight simulation software. I enjoy all of them for what they are, a diversion from everyday life. Please quit taking everything so seriously, and respect other peoples views and opinions, even if you can't understand why they see things in a certain way. Actually, I did find something better to do....In your previous posting, in regards to the "Avalanche" manuver........... I've been a fan of the ReaiAir SF260 for a long time. I've flown the real one, and the Marchetti is much like my Van's RV6 in many ways. For a desktop sim, the RealAir product accelled at rudder control. Hammerheads, tailslides, & snap rolls are possible. Screw it up..........and it easily could develop into a spin. Even an inverted spin.As to X-Plane, and even version 10..............it still has a problem with high bank angles. I can do continual 360's at high bank angles that approach knife edge flight, and loose very little altitude, with the same power & stick settings. In fact, it does it hands off. That simply never happens in real life. I wonder how the Patty Wagstaff airplane for X-Plane is coming along? I haven't heard for a while, it looks promising, and know that they've been putting a lot of time into it.Point is, don't make unfounded assumptions regarding MSFS aircraft. I have no idea what your talking about, guess you missed the point of my post. Your reply has nothing to do with the point I was making. The most active antagonist here knows who they are, and I just wish they would stop. They are accomplishing nothing, other than to maybe turn people away from XPlane, which would be unfortunate.

There are a few around here that seem capable of doing so, like Geofa. The rest of it is just argumentative garbage that does nothing to enhance the flight sim experience. Like I said, I use both XPlane and FSX, 2004, and have no strong allegiance to either. They both give me enjoyment. I agree with you wholeheartedly Glen, and it's not just the FSX Vs XP thing, but loads of threads turn into stupid arguments with negative undertones. That's one of the reasons why I spend most of my time over on the Orbx forum, it's far more friendly with fellow 'virtual mates' who are all very easy going and share their advice and experiences in a grown up way.

The ORBX forum is an utter bore, imagine life with no conflict or opposing views.To the OP: I personally enjoy the banter that goes on in this forum, sure some of it seems to get a bit out of hand but remember a forum on the internet is not real life. Banter is okay. When it gets vitrolic, mean spirited, and abusive is where we draw the line and folks start getting banned. Just a reminder for everyone.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing things in a manner that is beneficial to all, very little of that happens here.I frequent a lot of the 3rd party threads here at Avsim, as I own a lot of them. What would it be like if we didn't have a place to go and discuss issues were having, it would make solving problems pretty difficult. There are a lot of very informed people here to tap into, and I for one appreciate when they answer someones questions or concerns in a mature and well thought out manner. I, as well as everyone else can benefit from such banter. That's not what were seeing here. The banter here is not beneficial to anyone.And no, I don't take it to seriously, actually it's kind of patheticGlen
