Will there be airliners?

Nice, so "whole world" means the whole Earth, but yet Flight will be Hawaii only because why again? Oh that's right, it's the only screen shots shown so far.
Why it would not be Hawaii only?

No, in the initial version there will be no airliners and it will be Hawaii only.Later, in a few months they will release more regions and airliners, but they will be available in the online store only.

I'm voting with you...

Facts....Market store.Hawaii vid. and screen shots only.--------We’ve found the game runs well on low graphics settings with hardware meeting the following specifications:

  • CPU: Dual Core 2.0 GHz
  • GPU: 256 MB card capable of shader 3.0 (DX 9.0c compliant)
  • HD: 10 GB Hard Drive space
  • OS: WinXP SP3
  • RAM: 2.0GB

Now you tell me that what's posted above as far as Flight's requirement from MS (DX9 ans XP SP3) is based on a brand new engine out of the box and not from FSX...seriously??----------It was also one of our goals to ensure that the game can run well with high settings on hardware that is attainable today. Based on our testing of core scenarios, the game runs smoothly on high graphics settings with the following hardware specifications:

  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 960 @ 3.20GHz, AMD® Phenom™ II X6 1100T 3.3 GHz or better
  • GPU: ATI Radeon™ HD 5870, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560 or better
  • HD: 10 GB Hard Drive space
  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • RAM: 6GB

What about very high settings, don't we have that in FSX so no VERY HIGH settings in Flight? There is no way in hell you'll have the whole world depicted in Flight on high settings (as seen in Hawaii) using 10GB of space only (unless they use something like cloud for everything else?), I mean XP-10 use 80GB of space (80% more) without any airport's buildings...HELLO!!!....Lets forget about the 10GB space for a minute and lets say that Flight as everything in it, why a Marketstore, if you don't need to add anything else what will MS sell in it, 3RD party add-ons..., because you are telling me that if everything in Flight look like Hawaii you'r welling to pay for somebody else sceneries to cover it?? So will Flight have scenery like hawaii all over the world out of the box? Have I said pay as you go before?EDIT: Flight will not be Hawaii only...EDIT AGAIN: Am I the only one who just Idea.gif woked up to the fact that Flight (for the high settings) as a requirement of 64-bit for the OS and not 32, can this be the second surprise I was talking about?

I'm in the camp that believes Flight will be Hawaii only. Judging by what's been shown that's the only evidence we have. Now going back in history for our sim franchise, Flight Simulator has never shipped with real world liveries. Since FS2002 FS was built from the ground up to be accessible to third party vendors to expand on the base engine and create real world AI/ATC environments. Do to Airliner copywrite issues Microsoft can't ship real world liveries in the base package of FS9. It's up to third parties to provide those additions to Flight Simulator. At this point Airliners flying in and out of Hawaii is a mute point if the whole sim covers only one geographical area. We'll know more of the truth the first week of January 2012...

What do the system requirements have to do with the engine it's running?

My post is just as valid as those who say that Flight has airliners.
You posted an assertive statement as though it were a fact. You forgot the three conditional words "In my opinion..."

Only in your opinion I must assume, since you didn't state it so explicitly! LOL.gif

good one LOL.gif .. in my opinion
Of course there will be airliners!
For only $29.99, available directly from the Microsoft Flight eShop.
To me only a Maule and a colored biplane will be in, like the official MS site shows.
Don't forget the Vans RV-7, shown in the May update.

Cheers, Bert
