December 20, 201114 yr Any news about NGX tutorial 2 ?Thank you and Merry Christmans to all :D Marco Negri
December 20, 201114 yr I heard that Ryan is working on it around this time, should be released around January. I know a lot about the NGX, but there's always more to learn. Also, I'm really interested in the LOWI approach. Arjen Vandervelde
December 20, 201114 yr Author I have done a LOWI departure fantastic flap 15 settings :D is correct ? I have used topcat to calculate the value Marco Negri
December 20, 201114 yr ... Also, I'm really interested in the LOWI approach. The Innsbruck Approach (LOWI), is one of the more well known or talked about approaches in FSX, and a blast to fly. If you want to test it and see roughly how it will be (since the Innsbruck Approach is still, the Innsbruck Approach), go into your missions and choose it. Check the box to allow changes in missions, enter the brief and print out the charts that come with it (or fly in windowed mode and open the folder they're in to reference them), and choose the NGX. There's a lot of radio tuning but really fun to fly. It might not be a bad idea for anyone not to familiar with the NGX to fly the approach in something smaller a few times to get use to it also. It is something that you really want to thoroughly study the charts before hand and maybe even make some notes. I'm not 100%, but think this mission only exists in Acceleration and FSX Gold also. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
December 20, 201114 yr I've been fortunate enough to experience the LOWI approach and subsequent departure half an hour later from the cockpit of one of our company's 800's. The thrill of flying very close to the mountain wall into the valley just letting the plane fly its RNAV route (developed in house by our company) is unreal. The departure is just as sensational when the engines are spooled up to maximum power while standing on the brakes, then releasing them. (Something to try with the NGX !)Just wanted to share this fantastic experience Martin Bunjes
December 20, 201114 yr I don't tune that many radios during approach to be honest. I simply descent from 10000 feet from RTT, to AB, then make a left turn heading 254 to the INN VOR. Then just before the INN VOR, turn right to heading 264. I place a rage ring around the INN VOR, a range ring of 5 nm. I keep descending to 3700, I use V/S and use the green banana on the ND so I reach 3700 around 5 miles west of INN. Once I reach the edge of the range ring of INN, I make a right procedure turn (a turn with a bank angle of 15% of your True AirSpeed), towards runway 8. I simply use that vector on the ND to determine if I will line up at the right time. I actually do not tune to many radios, I don't see the advantage of it? I simply use the FIX page and insert the required VORs, in this case, AB and INN. Arjen Vandervelde
December 20, 201114 yr Arjen, I was referring to actually flying a small aircraft without everything you mentioned. An FMC? Bahh... To appreciate sophisticated aircraft I think people should first learn or fly it in smaller aircraft. Do it in something simple, like the B58 Baron and then come back with you not tuning radios that much. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
December 21, 201114 yr Also eagerly awaiting the 2nd tutorial. Meantime, if you like a challenge try Lugano LSZA Rwy 01 for Circling Rwy 19. You can depart LOWI for a short trip. You can find all the charts here: http://www.vacc.ch/e...and_charts/LSZA
December 21, 201114 yr I concur....used to fly the east and west procedures regularly in a Budgie (HS748) with steam gauges.....quite the feeling of accomplishment when nailing it.....Rattenburg and Kuthai became good friends ;) Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

December 21, 201114 yr Meanwhile, here is my own try. I got ###### when I arrived way before dawn (I was planning for a sunrise touchdown, but miscalculated the departure time), so I got distracted and forgot to set the autobrake. Feel free to point out my other flaws in the approach. It's in 2 parts, departure and arrival. Here they are:Part 1: Departure from ESSA Part 2: Approach and Arrival at LOWI Chidiebere Anyahara
