January 20, 201214 yr As far as X-52 is conserned,I have it for 3 and a half years now and here are some thoughts:1)The paint marking the switches is rubish,it will wear off in 2-3 months.2)Idle/afterburner detent is rubish,I ended up opening the thing and removing it completely.3)elevator and aileron axes are excellent, but rudder pot is rubish.I had to open the pot itself twice and clean it with alcohol, and every few days I have to hit the stick reasonably hard to loosen up some of the dirt in the rudder pot and get the rudder working again.4)The "precision slider" is anything but precise,it is completely useles, but rotaries are quite good.5)the saitek software that comes with it is excellent,it alows you to program almost everything.6)amazingly,the vacuum clamps that hold the thing to the table are still working after all this time.Overall,If you have a toolbox nearbuy and the patience to thinker with it,it is a nice stick,it serves you well for the price.I would reccomend getting some rudder pedals with it though. So all in all a great stick! :( I haven't had much time to get into it and it took me ages to work out to set Trigger 1 and 2 as the brake key "." I'm not even sure I've that that right. Using the Toggle switches for flaps and trim (might change) but could you tell me what I would use the Rotary and Slider switches for. The mouse thingos' a bit daft IMO. Good suckers as you've said. The Throttle seems to have a soft notch so it doesn't run smoothly from bottom to top but I think that may be intentional? I'll need to spend a bit of time with it.
January 20, 201214 yr Author Another thought raised in me: icould buy an not that expensive yoke at first to check out whether I can fly with a yoke at all and when I like if I can change to an more expensive one. How about that idea?! Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
January 20, 201214 yr I have PFC jet desktop yoke, and it's in a different league compared to my saitek yoke.If you have the money don't bother with anytime else.Evan Banalian.
January 20, 201214 yr Why? I use it so little lately...Because it's a must have for him. lol ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
January 20, 201214 yr An hat switch is definitely a "must have".With the PFC Yoke you can always map up and down and left and right to buttons on the yoke. There are 11 buttons that can be mapped. January 20, 201214 yr Because it's a must have for him. lolYeah yeah, I get that. I'm only askin...When I was getting Saitek that was my first thought. But now when I think about I could easily live without it.Besides you can always put a joystick beside the yoke if you ever desperately need it. I'll need to spend a bit of time with it.Well,I use the rotary for prop pitch and the slider for turbo lever in A2A accusim aircraft. You can remove the notch from the throotle by removing all of the screws from the underside of throttle part and removing the spring loaded notch which will be left in the bottom plastic cover.I don't use the mouse joystick in fsx but it is useful for DCS series.I would recomend setting trim on the second hat switch on the joystick because it is much better to use it with your thumb. I can see that some might want to remove the notch but I'm curious why it has it there in the first place? I guess it's going to take a bit of getting used to, after the old wireless thing I've had the last few years. Your would not believe how quickly that went through AA batteries! ...but I do like my new toy... :(

Your would not believe how quickly that went through AA batteries! ...but I do like my new toy... :(Well the throotle detent was placed there as a limit between flight idle/ground idle and max dry/max afterburner power on jet fighters. It is completely useless and i advise everyone to remove it,especially if they fly big jets or helicopters. Before this one,I had a saitek cyborg evo.It took soo much abuse from combat flight simulator 2 and USNF'97 that I hardly believe it is still working.I moved to X-52 because I wanted more buttons... :( Edited January 20, 201214 yr by Levkov Vladimir Levkov / Владимир Левков Two miles of road can take you two miles. Two miles of runway can take you anywhere in the world

The reason i bring this up is that i wouldn't mind getting something better than my CH Eclipse, but i am not prepared to spend 500$ - 600$.Edit. It is the steel shaft that interests me over the plastic on the CH. Edited January 20, 201214 yr by wanabflyer Rick Hobbs
January 20, 201214 yr Superpilotv2, according to your data you're hanging out around EDSB?I've been flying into EDSB a couple of times. Nice airport. Dave P. Woycek
January 20, 201214 yr I have heard some negative stories about PF.Would you mind elaborating on this?
January 21, 201214 yr Would you mind elaborating on this?Badly worded i guess. My actual point is that the PF yoke is the same as the Eclipse when it comes to complaints about poor centering, especially concerning the elevator action. Case in point is Kenneth Weir's mod. That is why i would like something better. However, it seems there is no middle ground, either low priced or in my opinion, over the top when it comes to price.By coincidence i notice that somebody has just today posted a video on how to perform the same mod as above to the CH yoke in a thread from last November when i first asked Kenneth if it were possible for the CH yoke, so i guess i will probably take a try at that.
