April 5, 201214 yr Guys, Just rename your original sound folder...make a new folder called sound and point the installer to that...away you go!! Dave
April 13, 201214 yr Author Hi everyone, I am terribly sorry about the lack of direct communication recently. Unfortunately we only have a small team of people at Oovee with just myself dealing in the FSX venture (therefore the only person that can provide technical support) and I've been clamped down with administration work as of recent. I would like to apologise to those people that have been suffering with technical issues and I would like to ask you to reply here and I will help you directly on this forum. Needless to say I have been making a list of items that need to be addressed and they are as follows: Increase overal internal engine sounds by 25%. Increase other internal sounds by 35% to compensate the engine sound increase. Tweak sound cones. Address installation directory location. If there is anything else, feel free to let me know. - I will be looking to provide you with this update on or before 20APR12. All the best, Zane Saxton Director - Oovee Game Studios. Thanks, Oovee Game Studios. http://www.oovee.co.uk/
April 13, 201214 yr Hi Zane, thanks for the update, you had some of us worried that you had abandoned the product. Cheers, Andy.
April 16, 201214 yr Author Hi Zane, thanks for the update, you had some of us worried that you had abandoned the product. Hi Andy, No that was defiantly not my intention, sorry that it appeared that way! - Anyway I have just finished updating the pack, all I have to do now is repackage it and provide you with the new file. It sounds much better now and I think you will like the improvements, thanks for all of your feedback. Will post again to confirm when the update is live. Next up, B58 sound pack! Thanks, Oovee Game Studios. http://www.oovee.co.uk/
April 16, 201214 yr I recieved a reminder from you to go and download the update @ simmarket, but what about people like me who purchased from "fspilotshop.com"? I noticed there is no update there... Regards David DD David
April 16, 201214 yr Author Both publishers have been notified about the update, as far as I know SimMarket are the first to upload the latest version. Thanks, Oovee Game Studios. http://www.oovee.co.uk/
April 16, 201214 yr I dont know what anyone else thinks but the internal sounds for the engines dont sound any different to me, I'm pretty certain you would not be able to hear a gyro over the sound of the engines thats for sure. The internal engine sounds need at least doubling in volume when the engines are running at idle and I still think that might not be enough. The external sound of the engine is attenuated too much when you move the viewpoint 180 degrees from the front of the prop, try running just one engine and you will see what I mean, the sound almost disappears altogether from the opposite end of the aircraft. I am only using stereo speakers too so its not a 5.1 surround issue either. Sorry its not better news from me, your attempts to remedy our concerns is appreciated though. Cheers, Andy.
April 16, 201214 yr Author Sorry to hear that. Do you have the volume sliders set to full within the FSX options menu? Thanks, Oovee Game Studios. http://www.oovee.co.uk/
April 16, 201214 yr Yes, but as I mentioned earlier in the thread this has the side-effect of increasing the AI aircraft engine sounds to a very high volume level that drowns out the 337 at certain times depending on how close the AI are to you on the ground. Even with the sliders at 100% the internal engine sounds at idle are still very quiet for me. Like I said the gyro is more noticable than the engines and that cannot be correct surely. Cheers, Andy.
April 16, 201214 yr Author I dont know what else to suggest at the moment because all of the sound files are close to distortion and are set to full within the engine volume parameters. The only thing that may improve your setup is if you changed all of the values under this call "outsideConeVolume=" in the configuration file to "10000". This should improve the attenuation issue. Thanks, Oovee Game Studios. http://www.oovee.co.uk/
April 18, 201214 yr Is anyone running the 337 in P3D with this sound pack? I get a CTD when I am in the VC and I am using this sound pack. If I return to the default sound pack I do not experience the CTD. Any ideas or suggestions? Russ

If I return to the default sound pack I do not experience the CTD. Any ideas or suggestions? Russ Anything in P3D is hit or miss currently for various reasons, mainly because the products were developed around FSX and its shaders. :) I get a CTD with the Skymaster with default sounds as I don't own this sound pack yet. (Hiya Zane!) His sound pack hasn't much if anything to do with Prepar3D crashing to desktop. April 19, 201214 yr Author Thanks for confirmation Bill, nice to see you here!! Thanks, Oovee Game Studios. http://www.oovee.co.uk/
April 19, 201214 yr All Bill has "confirmed" is that he has not 'ported' his aircraft successfully as yet. Russ said that his C337H did not CTD with the original sound set. A successful port, wouldn't you agree? On another FS forum, others have said that they have successfully ported their Carenado aircraft to P3D ( I have not yet switched to P3D as I'm happy with FSX for the time being). Work-arounds need to be found at the moment for moving to P3D, so press on guys. Cheers -- Peter Edrupt
