Hello PMDG folks,I asked the question already but unfortunately got no answer until now! Will this SDK made available to all end customers who have purchased the PMDG 737NGXor will it be made available only to commercial suppliers of Ad-Ons or hardware(as you mention it in the manual "PMDG 737 Introduction" on page 0.00.20)?I ask this questions since I am in a process of building my own cockpit usingBU0836X boards for inputs (which work already for a lot of functions of the glair and OVHD)and now I intend to use LED- and Servo control boards from open cockpit for annunciators and gauges. These boards require own scripts based on SIOC. It already works on my setup fore.g. flap indicator and gear control since for this you use the standard FSUIP offsets. But for a working OVHD or glairshild annunciators I would need the SDK.Therefore I like to ask if I "as an endcustomer" will get access to the SDK and can start purchasingthe control boards from Open Cockpit, or is it recommended to wait for an supplier whoprovides a plug and play solution like the OVHD from VRi.
I think too many folks have the misconception that the SDK is going to be like an NGX Paint Kit, where the Ordinary Joe without any programming skills would be able to custom tailor the NGX to their liking. The lowdown and short version is you will need some programming skills that are on par of a Developer to be able to use and take advantage of the Software Development Kit.

I'm so happy PMDG is working on an Xplane aircraft. Its a really good simulator. Most the people who bash XP have never really given it a good try. Installing XP and running it for 5 min then switching back to FSX is not trying Xplane.
Quite a pity then that the program ignores Joystick inputs after ten minutes.Wycliffe

Hi Paul, you might be right in some cases, but my request was really in front of the awareness that some programming skills are required. If you have ever used SIOC or LUA (even if you rework LUA scripts on LINDA) you would not be able to do it without any SW knowledge. To be honest the last time that I wrote some codes in my professional live was at the end of mega_shok.gif's in "TURBOPASCAL", then I moved from SW development to business development. But with some help of other friends of this forum I learned relatively quick how to write LUA and SIOC scrips and I am sure a lot of other guys are in a similar situation. I am really excited to get the info how the SDK from PMDG will be structured and how it works. All inputs (switches, knobs, selectors, etc) could already be controlled via LUA var's - so no problem on this side. Some of the FSUIPC standard offsets are also be used by PMDG (e.g. flap position, speed, on air, .....)What I am looking for (and I know also some other guys who wants to know the same) is how to requestthe status of all annunciators and the gauges/displays in the overhead display. One hint I would like to have for the PMDG folks: As I was guided to a thread that already run in August last year, therePMDG has announced that the SDK will be available to all 737NGX customers, why do they still have this missleadinglanguage in the manual by end of the year (when I purchased it).I am sure a little change on the language would avoid any similar requests in future.... but I know how much developers like to update manuals and therefore please understand this only as a hint and in no way as a criticism...

That is the 10 minute free demo version, correct?

Well I guess we will find out when the SDK released, if C++ for Dummies is enough.

I hope they have the wisdom to make things as sophisticated as possible for the skilled developers of further SW products and as easiest as possible for people who pay their bills by purchasing this great 737NGX but being not neccessarily IT experts with the wish to create their own home cockpit......

which is not long enough for me to decide whether i am willing to pay that sort of money for something I can't really try out to my satisfaction.Wycliffe

An unlimited number of 10 minute sessions is better than looking at 20 screenshots. You can see how the product loads and reacts to you mouse /menu and keyboard key selections on "your" PC.You can see how product updates work. You can also couple that with their forum posts ........See what their weather engine looks like .. the aircraft and how it works with your yoke and brakes ... and calibrations ....I like the "demo" advantages of products.

I think what he was saying is that 10 mins isn't enough to set up all your controls etc and get a real feel for the sim, then having to reload everything every 15 minutes is a bit of a pain.. I would have thought an unlimited time, but limited to a small region would have been better. I decided before the 15 minutes was up that xplane wasn't for me, perhaps if I had more time I would have been able to tweak things on the fly and try and set it up to work for me, but as it is, I can't be bothered reloading the sim to try some different settings etc.

The configuration get saved. You will waste 10 minutes setting the joystick, other 10 setting graphics and then you can use any number of 10 min session to fly.Over Seattle only, but well....
