SP1b. You can also see version in aircraft.cfg files (definitely) and I am told also somewhere in the MCDU.

Ok, nice ! Thanks gentleman ! :(

Hello PMDG folks,I asked the question already but unfortunately got no answer until now! Will this SDK made available to all end customers who have purchased the PMDG 737NGXor will it be made available only to commercial suppliers of Ad-Ons or hardware(as you mention it in the manual "PMDG 737 Introduction" on page 0.00.20)?I ask this questions since I am in a process of building my own cockpit usingBU0836X boards for inputs (which work already for a lot of functions of the glair and OVHD)and now I intend to use LED- and Servo control boards from open cockpit for annunciators and gauges. These boards require own scripts based on SIOC. It already works on my setup fore.g. flap indicator and gear control since for this you use the standard FSUIP offsets. But for a working OVHD or glairshild annunciators I would need the SDK.Therefore I like to ask if I "as an endcustomer" will get access to the SDK and can start purchasingthe control boards from Open Cockpit, or is it recommended to wait for an supplier whoprovides a plug and play solution like the OVHD from VRi.Any hint are very much appreciated.(If I have overseen a post that already have answered this question, please forgive me and guide me to it. I surved a lot but could not finda statement around this topic)ThanksDietmar
For those confused by what a SDK is - then two simple ways to find out - one you have one with FSX if you have the deluxe version. and if you want to see a specific one for a add on aircraft, the Level-D 767 comes shipped with one(did so when it was released) To get an understanding of what you can do with it - then take a look at Leeksecon which interfaces with the level D 767 using the SDK to enable you to use Opencockpits hardware with the sim. FSCREW for the Level D also used the SDK, hence why FS2CREW for the 767 is better than the PMDG 747 version which doesnt have a SDK and thus limits how FS2CREW can interface with it.Quite simply for the majority of people the SDK will mean nothing to them, other than it will mean that there will be a likelyhood of various programs such as FSCREW released that will use it. For Cockpit builders or those that wish to use Hardware, then you will download interfaces from the various hardware manafacturers(or users that create them) which will enable your hardware to better interface with the software. So as many have stated unless you have the skills to write your own software, and the ideas of what it is you want to create then the SDK will simply be something that will enable others to create addons/Interfaces for your NGX. It will be available to all though, not just hardware or comercial developers.

When I get my copy of the SDK, I'm going to write a program that will allow me to go into the cargo holds and open up all the packages.

Great Idea! I am curiouse too!Hoepfully this comment will not lead in a further delay since now the lawyers who scratch their heads about the SDK EULA needs to consider a paragraph that ensures that the post secret will not be violated ... :(

Do you really believe that the majority of cockpit builders, who know what PMDG 737NGX means, does not know what a SDK is?Have you ever tried to make GoFlight or OC or Leo Bodnar stuff working with PMDG 737NGX ?Maybe I have missed something but I could NOT make it working without writing FSUIPC macros and writing or using LUA scrips from other. (not even spoken about CPflight, Flyengravity, ITRA ,....)My request was truly made due to a misleading language in the manual that has said:"Our goal is to allow hardware manufacturers to create their own drivers so that the hardware can be made compatible with our software,...."This sounded for me that only commercial suppliers, who sign a SDK license agreement or something like this, will get access. But in the meantim people have routed me to posts, where PMDG have already stated that the SDK will be available for all.So I am (and I'm sure a lot of other guys too) will be happy and looking forward what we will get.

Dietmar, NGX is not really for cockpit builders. Sure if you want to interface an MCP or a few switches. If you are serious about building a cockpit go get Prosim737.Andrew Vincent

Hi Vincent, many thanks for this hint. I never recognized Prosim737 before. Looks quite interesting.(reminds me a bit to the Project Magenta stuff I already have for GA and RJ and planned to purchase for 737)Will definitely look more closer to it since from the first view it looks like an alternative to PM for me.But since I have the PMDG 737NGX I am not 100% sure if I really need it.PMDG allows to drop out the PFD, ND, FMS CDU, engine displays to other monitors.(Have 2 graphic cards with 3 monitors)The performance of my PC does manage it with acceptable FpM.Also all (not only some) buttons and switches etc. could already be managed via Lua vars.Missing is a way to control the >100 annunciators and the gauges in the OVHD.Hope the SDK will cover it, if not than I'll go the other route....I totally agree that for somebody, who have the space to build a 1:1 shell + cockpitand can use beamers for the outside world, the Prosim737 approach is much better.Unfortunately I do not have that space in my room but I'm keen to have a complex simulationwithout the need of a mouse ....... at the moment I guess this could only be reached by building a "scale cockpit" - like my RC models ;-)

Bet you that's where they hid that hidden object...
I think what he was saying is that 10 mins isn't enough to set up all your controls etc and get a real feel for the sim, then having to reload everything every 15 minutes is a bit of a pain.. I would have thought an unlimited time, but limited to a small region would have been better. I decided before the 15 minutes was up that xplane wasn't for me, perhaps if I had more time I would have been able to tweak things on the fly and try and set it up to work for me, but as it is, I can't be bothered reloading the sim to try some different settings etc.
That is exactly what I was intimating, When one hasn't even enough time to get my throttles to work one cant help but think whats the point.Wycliffe
Hi, first of all, that is really great news :) Looking forward to that. However, I was looking in google for a Tutorial #1, was not sure, if I had that at home....
Look for pmdg in your start menu. The fcom's, fctm, qrh & introduction document are all accessible from there.

Thanks :)But I am currently not at home, so I could not look at that :DWas just wondering "does the tutorial #1 come with the 737 NGX as standard or not?".And I know now, that it does. But more importantly, I would like to point out that there are PMDG documents free for download for everyone on the net, that cannot be correct, right? I mean, you have to buy the PMDG NGX to get access to these documents.

I would expect so. It's definitely true with the Boeing manuals.

Indeed you need to buy the NGX to get access to these documents. I'd suggest editing your post to remove the link. You could always send it to PMDG via a private e-mail or forum PM so they can follow it up with whatever action they deem appropriate.
