Thank you all so much for your great help. Now i feel wiser :-). Please allow me another question. As I mentioned in an earlier post about the SDK. What is the purpose of releasing an SDK? I thought it is only for developers

In fact if you're not going to develop some tool or software that needs to interact with the NGX, the SDK will be not use for you.The SDK is a tool that developers like Bryan of FS2Crew needs to interact with the aircraft in order to read for example the current bugged heading on the MCP, and to be able to set whatever heading he wants.

Panos-The Aerosoft Boxed version is compliant with SP1b, I believe. They will begin producing with SP1c when we finish with it.Either way, you can simply pull the patch update from our server- as it will universally update you to whatever version we are on...As the NGX ages, we will keep updating this universal patch installer- so you will only ever need to download that one file and it will update your CD to the most current version.(This is true for download customers as well...)

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

Robert, any updates on when it will be finished? From your initial post I understood that it was finished but had to be checked after the system migration.

Robert, thank you for your clarification. I appreciated. Now, all Im doing is waiting on toes to get my box and then sit comfortably inside the cockpit of this wonderful aircraft :-)

Flying the NGX now for 6 consecutive months without gong back to any other add-on aircraft!
Me too. Since the release of this wonderful bird, I never used other aircraft addons... Too much the difference between PMDG 737NGX and the rest of the world...
...XPlane 10 is only just released. But believe me, in around a year or 1-2, we will all be flying our PMDG planes in XPlane 10. Because XPlane 10 isn't a game like FSX, where you have to fix the problems of the game yourself. Imagine, never having to suffer from CTD's, bad frame rates (if you have average hardware), stutters, and other problems anymore. And perhaps we will even be able to remove our overclock, because the newer games are more GPU dependant anyway.I'm looking forward to it. As soon as PMDG has their NGX ready XPlane 10, I'm over to that platform.
I am not sure about the time span you indicated. Don't forget that X-Plane10 has nothing at the moment. Think about addons available now in FSX and how many years it takes to reach this situation. In X-Plane 10 there are not (now) quality addons in any perspective (aircrafts, sceneries, weather engine, AI traffic...), nothing except REX and few Carenado aircrafts. Looking at some screenshots I must say it has pretty nice ground textures and a very great terrain mesh but have you seen streets layout? It is horrible. And no airport sceneries at the moment too.I think that only in 4-5 years X-Plane 10 (or the next version because I cannot believe that for next years will be not more updates) may reach the actual level of addons opportunity that FSX has.And this is told you by a man that want a great develop of X-Plane, because I am seriously interested to leave all Microsoft platforms in favour of Linux. For me it would be absolute fantastic running X-Plane on Linux machines, but to do that I need a X-Plane at the same level of FSX and don't know how many years this process will take.Bye.

I disagree on a few items here:- Take a look at the CRJ200 from JRollon - not PMDG complexity - but way past say Wilco or the likes. That plane have set a pretty high standard very early, so off to a good start.- weather engine - why? It's really not needed for XP10 to same extend as FSX needs one i think.- Go to Aerosoft f.ex and check out the scenerys they have in the pipe for XP10 - within 1-2 years is very much a reasonable timeframe to be working with I think.http://forum.avsim.n...__fromsearch__1I've had some interesting insight from XP10 here I guess...Mas

the CRJ200 JRollon... ah ok... what else? Could you reply me telling, in your opinion, how many years will take the process to create a platform at the almost same quality level as FSX has today? I am not sure that this could be there in next one or two years.P.S.: Please fill your full name in your post, otherwise you may see deleted your messages... ;)

Hi pilotsNot to stray to far from the original post but:I used to convert quiet a lot of aerosofts scenery for use with XP9 using the available tools. Most of them looked pretty much the same as the originals. It took a bit of time though.I don't think it takes a lot of time for "professionals" like aerosoft or other designers to do the same.Back to the OP now ;-)Where is it .....OliverBTW, I own these sceneries I converted and the tools are legal freeware.

Hi vonmar

Oliver"BTW, I own these sceneries I converted and the tools are legal freeware."See my Sig ;-)I always thought software could not be "modified" without permission? How does the legal freeware tool get around this?
For the tools look here:http://wiki.x-plane.com/Scenery_Toolsand to my knowledge, if you own a thing you can use it, as long you don't copy AND sell/ distribute it or use it for ANY other commercial purpose. (like LPs,CD's, MP3s or any other media.I just rechecked the aerosoft copyrights and it does not say any thing different than the above.AGAIN, for my OWN privat, single computer use only.Correct me if i am wrong, but not on this thread, please !!Any this is obsolete, since i am back on FSX now and all the software is exclusively installed on this platform.NGX was the reason ;-) I left X-Plane for that, completely.(Former suporter and tester of this:www.eadt.euand this:http://www.eadt.eu/index.php?x737fmc)Three greensOliver

My opinion on the timeframe? How can you not read that from my post? I can ellaborate though: I see the scenery, mesh, lightning and the amount of 3D objects (also in autogen mind you) far far better in XP10 than in FSX - I don't think anyone would argue that. And remember that XP10 is still a work in progress. So when you say "...at almost the same quality as FSX has today..." I must say that the DEFAULT quality of XP10 is far better than the DEFAULT quality of FSX. So can we expect to see developers make aircrafts, scenerys and the likes for XP10 within a couple of years? PMDG said some days ago that they are allready in the process, Aerosoft have already made some scenerys and have started to make the ATR-72 together with McPhat Studios, FSDT are doing them - how can you disagree? You wrote: "... In X-Plane 10 there are not (now) quality addons in any perspective (aircrafts, sceneries, weather engine, AI traffic...)..."- I stated that Aerosoft has made some excellent scenerys and the Jrollon has created a very high quality aircraft. Are you aksing me now, if there are more than the ones I mentioned? Why? My answer covered your statement in full. I suggest you do a google tour yourself, I think I made my points of disagreement quite clear. And regarding the name,, (sigh) - please don't act like an admin, I've been signing my 188 post with my first name, and had some of those post quoted by admins, so I think it'll all be ok Capt. Riccardo.Sorry to come off a bit offended, but that was in fact what I was from your reply - I didn't mean to upset you Capt. by disagreeing with your statesments ;)Mas
